Brilliant find in Hadleigh, very creative with stunning menu, some excellent well executed food ideas here
😊. Deserts only let down, too large, not refined, overly rich, lots of focus on deconstruction, people on next table moaning as well 😕. Good selection of drinks, and a local gin menu, nice touch
☺️. Service could probably have been more tentative. Cheese 💕. Ambience 💕.

It is difficult to say something is average without sounding like I am being mean, this is a lovely restaurant, the decor is on point and the menu gives you the impression you are in for a real treat, with starters like "blow torch mackerel" and the main courses listed under the heading "the main event", but when the food came was pretty ordinary. Not bad, just no "wow" factor with the flavours. My "Juniper Berry Jus" served with the Duo of Duck really had nothing to add to the dish at all.

This review earns three stars not two primarily because of the Staff... The service here is excellent, the staff were helpful and friendly, but the food service from the kitchen seemed a little slow. One of our party ordered ham, egg and chips but the ham was left uneaten on the plate. I must give credit to the staff who noticed the meat was uneaten and came to politely discuss the problem, they removed this meal from our bill which really impressed me.
My advice would be try this place for yourself you might find something we didn't, and you must order the curried popcorn while you look at the menu because it is amazing...

Very friendly staff, lovely food. Bit of a draft where we were sitting but did not bother us overmuch. We had several different dishes and enjoyed all of them. Different cocktails and g&t's on the menu as well, so just having a chat and a drink would be enjoyable here as well.

Great staff. Very good food for the price. Particularly like the tapas style Euro dishes (small tasters of non-tapas food). Nice environment. In general a very pleasant place to be! Happy to recommend.

Amazing food! I was staying near by at the Suffolk Escape and came to eat here twice on my holiday. Shows you how amazing the food is! They offer lots of little bits of dishes for you to share and eat, I highly recommend the seafood board. 🤤🤤

Dining at The Ram is a hit and miss affair, really. Cool, understated decor in a lovely old building. Decent atmosphere for a friday night, mid-pandemic. Imaginative and well prepared food. Not overpriced. But sloppy service: very nice lads, but inattentive. Failed to provide enough plates & cutlery for the number of diners, and by the time this was rectified, food was getting cold. No cheese polenta. No coffee whatsoever. No knives or plates provided with the cheese board. All of which detracted from what could have been an excellent experience. There were some nice touches, and the shortcomings are down to the management, not the staff. I'd try again, as The Ram could be really good, but on this showing they need to try harder.
