Friendly service and the Sunday roast is 10/10. Had the trilece dessert as well which were so yummy we got another one. Would recommend

We decided to try here on a Saturday afternoon, we had tried 5 other places but they were fully booked, then we remembered this place had been recommended, bit further away than we wanted but we thought we would still try.
The lady behind the bar was very welcoming, there was only us & one other table. We placed our order & waited & waited. Considering there were only 2 tables the service was extremely slow. Although when the food did arrive it was delicious!

Lovely atmosphere, delightful food! The Mediterranean Grilled Salmon was perfect, as were the fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection. A delicious, healthy and reasonably light supper!
The service was attentive and polite.

Excellent service well trained staff as well as smiling 🙂 with attention to detail.
Old fashioned values that I thought had disappeared.
Food was plenty full value for money. Quality Jus excellent flavours both starters and desserts.

Looks great but the food and service don't always live up to the looks. My friend had a rib eye steak that was 60% fat - we told the staff but no apology and no reduction in price. On another occasion we ordered garlic bread as a starter but it was just forgotten but still added to the original bill (was removed when we pointed out out). Although we're semi-regular visitors there is no acknowledgment that they recognise us. It is very noisy too if there are a few tables occupied

A disappointing visit after quite a few recommendations. Some of the food may be good but what I received was not. I had the pork belly roast dinner which looked liked it had been sliced and put back in the oven for an extra hour, burnt to a crisp (photo attached). Veg was all overcooked and the gravy was very watery. Best item on the plate was the Yorkshire pudding which was the only good thing on there. My Wife's Roast Beef dinner was passable, but there are plenty of restaurants in the area which serve better food. Was not asked if we wanted to try the wine before it was poured and then the server put the bottle cap back on the bottle?!? Service was lacking, had to virtually wave people down as they all have their heads down with the avoidance tactic down to a tee. To top it off, we were charged for 3 covers instead of 2. They only realised their mistake when I queried it.

Food and service were good. Portions were quite generous to the point of surprise really. Prices are about what you'd expect for the type of place and the food quality. Would definitely eat there again at some point in the future.
