The Meat House

Food was delicious. I ordered the rump steak which came with 2 side orders of my choosing! Beautifully cooked! My desert consisted of freshly baked cookies and ice cream it came with my choice of sauce topping!
The staff were rushed off their feet but they were absolutely fantabulous, helpful and funny!

We had a long wait for a platter to share which was mainly chicken with no flavouring or sauce. The mushrooms were overcooked and like rubber. They didn't have a lot of the drinks they had on the menu and they also didn't have most of their dessert menu. The waitress was very friendly but seemed to be the only one working. Such a shame as I was looking forward to going for my meal.

Beautiful old building, service was good, but only a temporary limited menu for Sunday lunch, also very quiet. Not many diners. They didn't serve zero alcohol beer, & some of the sweets were unavailable.
BUT, would go again.

Very disappointed on last visit with food , for what it costs Very disappointed with portion of food, no side salad just a few chicken goujons with a few chips which most of them had black bits in the chips. They did lamb skewers for us because they didn't have any chicken and it was just lamb on skewers nothing else no peppers or any salad very poorly presented.

First attempt going we booked a table only to turn up they were shut for staff training.
Went again on a Sunday wasn’t aware it was only a Sunday menu . They put the usual one on the table then told us we couldn’t have any as it was only Sunday menu. Ordered cocktails got the wrong ones. Let it slide. Tried ordering a wine they don’t have a lot of what was on the menu and offered no alternative so stuck to water.
I will say the food was really nice if not what we originally wanted.
Ordered a coke never got it but added to the bill.
Everyone was friendly but service was poor and poorly organised. A shame was really looking forward to trying it but will not be returning and would not recommend. Made more strange by being the only people in the restaurant.

When for a birthday meal after coming across it earlier in the year, I was not not as impressed as I was originally. The menu has been updated and a lot of options have been removed also menu can not be found online only older menus, I originally would have given it 4.5 but now a low 3. The food it self is nice the cocktails need an improvement with limited options, I tried a mojito that was a rum and lemonade with a sprig of mint in it. I understand that places need to update menus to accommodate seasonal changes and price changes but feels as if they have over looked the customer experience when doing so.

Went for a Christmas meal with work colleagues and I must say it was the worst steak I have ever had. Costing £42 for a steak was bad enough but to get a dry burnt steak was shocking. The salad that came with it was a few bits of lettuce with two cherry tomatoes cut in half so the nicest part of my meal was the garlic bread. I complained and was told I could have a free drink but didn't even get that. Will never go there again.
