13 Market Street

Had to delete my review from 7 months ago as things have changed since the last time and sadly not for the better.

The cocktail/bar area is still very good and a nice place to have a drink.

Our table was booked for 8:30pm we got the before hand to have a drink. When I asked if we could carry a tab from the bar to the table I was rather "snootily" told "we don't do tabs here" like it was below them to have a tab.

Ok I thought that's fine. Then we are told to order our food at the bar, double standards.

Anyway, the food; where as 7 months ago it was highly quality small portions, its gone to ok quality and grotesque portion sizes served on a chopping board! The food was on par with a brewsters, which is fine but the bar at which 13 Market Street set has been lowered.

Also, as we sat down to eat a blaring disco started in the corner of the restaurant, with no apparent warning. We could hardly hear eachother speak.

Won't be returning for food but maybe a cocktail.

wonderful venue, beautifully decorated and presented, food is always great and the staff are very accommodating. Highly recommended for any celebration or a treat. Great choice of menu options...something for everyone.

Lovely restaurant and cocktail bar in the centre of Caerphilly. Beautifully refurbished and a great place to enjoy food and a pint, cocktail or whatever you fancy. Two pleasant outside areas but no smoking prohibited in these areas. Would recommend.

Wow, absolutely loved this place. We're so lucky having such amazing restaurants to choose from in Caerphilly. Beautifully decorated, very friendly helpful staff, reasonably priced food and amazing flavours. Lots of different areas to sit to cater for large groups or small cwtches for more intimate chats. Would highly recommend and can't wait to go back.

Close to the castle, beautifully presented bistro, serving buffet breakfast, then a menu of lunch and dinner options. You can pop in for a coffee or a drink and relax in the easy chairs if you don't want to eat. We were visiting Caerphilly and arrived just in time for breakfast at 10.45, the staff were really welcoming and helpful, kindly offering to stay serving breakfast for longer as they had no midday bookings (although people arrived for lunch while we were eating and obviously the longer breakfast option will not always be the case but it meant we could have a lovely relaxed breakfast in comfortable stylish surroundings). The food choices were good, delicious and hot, as much as you wanted with unlimited tea or coffee or you could have fruit juice. Serving staff were very responsive when asked for help. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Mmm would I go back, yes I would as it was nice, different, its quiet, relaxing and warm, could hear conversation on table without shouting at each other,as not overcrowded. Food not quite fully established yet. Bruschetta starters hard cold like been in fridge all day, my mistake ordering black tiny sesame seeds plastered on chicken which I thought was golden sesame coating,so read menu carefully. Vegetarian curry was lovely . A good addition to our other fab restaurants in Caerphilly.

Very yummy, sloppy vegan burger. Good value, fresh food, nice setting, would recommend! Amy was friendly and attentive, smiling and helpful. Jess was very welcoming and friendly too. If you're in the area great choice of burgers for both vegans and non vegans.

Last weekend we hired the function room to celebrate my mum's birthday and the food and staff were lovely! Very generous serving sizes and the staff were great.

Went back today for the lunchtime menu, fab food and service again, will definitely be back!
