The Golden Lion Hotel

So good we ate here twice in two nights. Food was really high quality and great value. Staff extremely friendly and attentive. There was also a good selection of specials on offer. Sat in the 'shed' and the restaurant another night, both great dining experiences. Tempura prawns, lamb burger, bean burger and eton mess all highlights.

Very nice restaurant attached to a pub. The service was very quick (in a good way). Good selection typical pub food. Portions were big, especially for kids menu. Food was pretty good too but could have been a bit better hence losing a star. Lamb chops were tasty but took a lot of work to get a small amount of lamb off. The chicken ‘pie’ was just a puff pastry top on a bowl of plentiful filling (for me, a pie should at least have a base and sides! And ideally shortcrust). Sticky toffee pudding was itself tasty but spoilt with flavourless ice cream and overpowering raspberry sauce mixed in with the toffee sauce.

Fabulous place to eat and soak up the atmosphere. Fabulous menu and food is mouthwatering. Hubby had Priselli Lamb and I had broad bean spicy burger. Both amazing Dogs welcome in the bar area too. But you need to book. It’s popular

Sunday dinner booked for 6 people on holiday, beef undercooked and slimey, roast potatoes raw in the middle, we did complain early on in our meal but nothing was done about it, they give us a 10% discount. . My suggestion would be to ask the paying customer how they would like their meat cooked and not serve it what's appears to be the current fashion.Nice beers though.

We were staying at Llys Meddyg next door- big mistake. We ate at this pub on our first evening. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and fitted us in even though they were incredibly busy in mid August. Food was excellent as was the service Wish we had eaten our anniversary meal here too the next night, rather than the overpriced hotel next door.
We will be back.

Visited here for my partners birthday. The bar and restaurant was very busy with a lovely atmosphere. The staff were wonderful with our young boy and very helpful. The food provided was full of flavour and overall a very good experience.

Looking forward to returning.

Booked a lovely lunch for a relative’s special birthday and was not disappointed. The staff are very friendly, professional and efficient. We had two Thai green chicken curries and the Pie of the Day. All were fantastically delicious.
I can highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be taking more friends and relatives there.
