Liked: Great little site! peaceful, good access to the lakes, Clean toilets and showers, lovely pub just up the road with greenlands farm opposite being a good day out for the children too. Had a very relaxing weekend here.

Disliked: Not so much of a dislike but some of the pitches were a bit tight for a caravan and car (without going on the grass). Some pitches were more aimed for motor homes. Maybe an option for booking larger pitches would be a good idea. This would not stop us returning though. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Liked: This site is lovely, small and well maintained. At the time of booking I was asked if I had any special requirements. I asked to be close to the toilet and shower block as my son is disabled. I couldn’t be any closer. I was in the pitch right next to the block. The pitch was hardstanding and level. The toilets and shower block were well maintained. The pitch was hardstanding with enough room for our caravan, awning and our car. We were left to our own devices but when my husband and daughter met the owners they were pleasant and helpful. In the future we plan to go Scotland so will stop over here again for a night or 2 to break the journey up.

Liked: Thought the pods we stayed in were really cute. They had almost everything we needed. It was nice to have somewhere to sit in the evening when the kids were in the bed and it was good to have all the kitchen set up and shower etc. A home away from home.

The site was quiet but other than that we had no real reason to venture into the site much beyond our little area.

Leigh was really helpful and had great customer service attitude. Nothing was too much trouble.

I think these pods are best suited to a couple rather than family of four.

Disliked: One major omission for me in the pod was the lack of a bin. There was a tiny bathroom bin but we could have done with a slightly larger kitchen bin.

Second suggestion would be to have some coat hooks on the wall somewhere. Somewhere to hang wet coats as in the Lake District it’s inevitable that rain happens and there is nowhere to hang coats.

Thirdly, the sofa bed would probably be the only reason we would not come back as a family of four. We let the kids have the main bed (which was comfy) so that we could stay up and watch TV but we had a terrible couple of nights sleep. The bars from the base of the sofa bed dug right in your back and it was too small for two adults to share.

Finally, there is no ventilation other than the front door and bathroom window at the back and so it got a little stuffy in there with 4 of us. The site provided a fan but there was no plug near enough to the bed and the cable wasn’t long enough. We managed though.

Amazing refurbished house perfect for a weekend away with family and friends. Loved the big private garden and the hot tub just made it. Location was good with lots of things to do locally like the greenlands farm and the gorgeous longlands restaurant/pub just down the road. Lots of places to explore within driving distance too. The owner was very friendly and provided a great service from the initial booking right through to our stay. We will definitely be returning

Liked: Small, compact site and well maintained. Added security with keypad barrier.

Disliked: Pitch was a bit tight and not really enough room for caravan plus car. Road noise kept us awake. Would perhaps request a different pitch next time, now that we know the layout.

Liked: A lovely clean small site, the showers are powerful and hot. A good dish wash area and laundrette.

The owners were really helpful and available by phone any time. good gravel paths and pitches, all with hook up. ample water taps and re-cycle area.

A lovely pub which allows dogs only 5 mins walk (see road issue). Also Archery, canal walks, cafe all within a short walk

Disliked: There is no waste drop area for motorhomes.
The showers are small and you have to put your clothes outside the cubicle or they will get wet. There is only 1 ladies, 1 mens and one disabled, so I am guessing high season it can be an issue.
The laundrette had someone's clothes and sheets hanging there for the whole weekend.
Noise - This is by far the noisiest site I have ever stayed at, it is right next to the road and traffic is constant. I needed ear plugs to sleep. To walk anywhere is a nightmare, no street lights and no pavement, so although the pup is only a 5 min walk it was really dangerous. We talk a torch and walked towards oncoming traffic, jumping into the verge as the cars came.

I am packing my things to leave this beautiful place after a few nights away.

I booked to come in October, but was ill so I was allowed to rearrange to this week.

What can I say from the minute we arrived, Leigh was lovely and accommodating, we came with our big dog Bruce to stay in a dog friendly pod. The pod was absolutely amazing so clean and lovely, Christmas lights it was just lovely. I even took my own blankets to cover the couch as Bruce would jump up and I didn't want that but I didn't need to as he loved lying on the floor with the under floor heating.

My only fault which isn't anything to do with the site and out if their control is the lack of footpaths. It is a busy A road as stated but to walk from the site is a tad scary especially in the dark, but like stated this is nothing to do with the site.

We will be back and definitely recommend

Liked: Excellent site, well laid out with level hardstanding pitches separated by immaculate grassed areas. Very well maintained site that was spotlessly clean as was the toilet/ shower block. The music was a pleasant addition.
Well located for a visit to Morecambe etc.
The Christmas decorations and illuminated tree was a very pleasant and welcome addition.
