Pretty and well situated cottage. Excellent use of the available space with the lounge feeling particularly welcoming and spacious. Good use of storage space upstairs. Pristine cleanliness and fully equipped (down to things such as dishcloths, dishwasher tabs and washing up liquid as well as toiletries – not always the case with holiday rentals). Wood burning stove too. There are beamed low ceilings and taller people need to take care, although all the beams have been fitted with ‘warning ribbons’.
The location is ideal for Blenheim/Woodstock and it is also very close to Wychwood Nature Reserve which probably explains the deer in the road!! Village shop is directly opposite. Also very close to the local station and train rather than car would probably be the best way to visit Oxford.

Completely satisfied with our stays (have used two times this year) and will be using again.

Stayed here for a short break after getting married. Cosy, idyllic cottage in stunning location. We could not have asked for anything more from our stay or our wonderful host Melinda. We did not have a car but were still able to get out and about to see places such as Blenheim Palace via public transport, as well as enjoying some lovely walks. Friendly village shop ideally located across the road and The Plough Inn down the road became our second home for the week- definitely get booked in for Steak Night on Thursdays.
Our only complaint was that we couldn't stay longer! Cannot wait to visit again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Witts End Cottage for a weekend in November, and our trip could not have been more perfect. The cottage was exactly as described on the website, and all of the modern convinces were in fantastic condition, from the charming kitchen (with dishwasher, microwave and range cooker) to the smart TV and wifi.

The decor was simply charming, the cottage cosy and warm, and with a working wood burning stove for those dark evenings. Melinda and her husband went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable, checking in with us that we were connected to the wifi, and giving us fantastic recommendations for local gastro-pubs (The Swann and Minster Mill was excellent). The location was perfect too, only a ten minute drive from Blenheim palace and situated in a pretty (and quiet!) village.

We would recommend this vacation spot to anyone who wants a romantic peaceful weekend away, with great food and beautiful surroundings.

Wow, what a delightful cottage. Perfect for two couples (as we were), everything needed for our stay was there, including a welcome tray (milk, tea bags, biscuits etc.). Beautifully decorated to a very high standard with room for parking either one large car and one small car or two small cars. Very handy for the local community shop across the road and a 5 minute walk to the local pub where we had lunch (excellent fillet steak). As we were going to visit Blenheim Palace for a concert this cottage location was ideal (20 minutes) and Witney, Banbury, Bicester, Oxford can all be driven to in well under the hour. Thank you to our host Melinda for making our stay memorable.

Witts End Cottage Finstock offers peaceful and quality accommodation with superb attention to detail for a self catering holiday. The local village shop is very convenient The Plough Inn is excellent but you need to book to avoid disappointment. Well done Melinda and Ramsey for providing first class accommodation yet again.
Highly recommended - Liz and Steve Mulley

We booked Witt's End Cottage in June 2016 and spent a lovely four nights there.
The cottage was perfect for four, with the spacious twin bedroom and cosy double, with really good storage in both.
Although the cottage is obviously beautifully old, the interior is really well thought out and tastefully decorated. The kitchen appliances and washing/dryer machine were modern and very good quality, high-end products as was the fitted kitchen with granite worktops. Every piece of kitchen equipment you might need and more was provided which made staying in to eat a pleasure.
Everything was spotlessly clean when we arrived and we were greeted by Melinda, who was very friendly and helpful about local places.
The only tiny negative was the shower over the bath. It wasn't the easiest of baths/showers to use, space-wise, and I think a straight forward shaped bath with shower hose attachment might have been easier but it was ok and the slipper style bath does fit the look of the cottage.
The cottage is situated in Finstock, not far from the lovely market town of Witney and it's a perfect place from which to explore the Cotswolds, not really being far from anywhere. Local shops and services were fab...including the village shop and post office, directly opposite the cottage! It was lovely to pop over in the morning to grab some eggs and bacon for brekkie.
The cottage was peaceful and had a flat screen tv on the wall and good wifi. I can imagine a lovely fire roaring in the lounge during the colder months but we were there in June so didn't need heating.
We visited loads of local towns and villages during our stay and I was really excited to visit the beautiful village of Bibury (Arlington Row) one of the filming locations for the movie Stardust!
Our stay was pretty much perfect.
Thanks Melinda.
