We arrived to a lovely roaring fire in the late afternoon. The owners had left their own fresh farm eggs which tasted delicious; as well as milk, biscuits, tea, coffee and wine. There were fresh flowers on the window sill. It was a really friendly welcome. Although the hot water was slow to come through to wash up, the shower was electric and fine for 6 tired hikers. It's worth knowing there is no WiFi, but it's a great place for a quiet getaway.

Nice cosy property with plenty of charm. The owner barely spoke to us and gave us no information about the place in terms of fuel for the fire, what to do with rubbish or the ash, where to park our cars etc. Gets very cold overnight as they turn the heating off and the shower is pretty bad too. We've enjoyed making the fire though and the milk, wine and freshly laid eggs that were left for us was nice.
