Tim was great in explaining what we needed to know as first time customers. He was very thorough and made it easy to understand. His service was great and made sure that we understood that if we need anything they will be happy to help!

The facilities are suitable as you would expect, but I must make a note here about the invoicing and Customer Service department, hence my very low rating. Once I had moved out a few months back, I received an automated email from Shurgard saying that my contract had ended and if I had any remaining balance on the account, I would receive a credit for the unused days in the month. I didn't hear anything for a few months so it seemed all was well and then randomly got hit up by a debt collection agency for a nominal amount of money. No problem, if they forgot to send an invoice these things happen.

It kinda looked like a scam so I forwarded the email to to Shurgard Southwark to confirm if it was legit, and I received some information about a not giving them a two week notice period, but still nothing about confirmation of my balance. Still, no problem so I went back. Six times. After simply requesting a final invoice of my account six times, I asked to escalate to the manager as it seemed like a very simple request. I received "You are no longer Shurgard customer" in response.

This is terrible customer service. There was a massive lack of ownership of the issue as well as the fact that a final invoice was never sent when I closed my account or asking a few months later just makes it worse. You cannot just send your customers to debt collectors without telling them. Do not treat your customers like this - irrespective if the account is for £10, £100, or £1000. For others, please be extremely careful if your account is actually closed with these guys as they will not tell you, send you to a debt collection agency, and then rudely reply as if I had not dealt with them in the past, specifically with a "You are no longer Shurgard customer." You can do better than this Shurgard.

Farid has been extremely helpful at a time when I was highly stressed since I need to urgently find storage for my entire flat at short notice. His professionalism & customer service is 1st class. He’s a great asset to the company.
