Metro Storage - Islington

I initially gave them 5 stars as we were quite pleased with the Metro Storage facilities, they are clean and the location was very convenient for us. We had no issues for a whole year. However I feel forced to downgrade my review to 1 star given the experience we had at the very end of our contract.

As the end of the 1-year contract was approaching we contacted Metro Storage to find out about renewal options and options to increase the size of our storage space. Our contract did not have any renewal (or automatic renewal) provisions, so we did not know what would happen after the one year term. We struggled to get an answer from them despite much insisting and when we finally got it they asked for a substantial increase in the price, even for the same space, which we were prepared to pay for the convenience of keeping our things in the same facility, we were not given any written quotation, despite asking. Unexpectedly, only a couple of days after we were told about the pricing options, and while we were still thinking of the best upsize alternative, we received an email from their accounting department with an invoice for the following year. The price was the same we had for the first year, which was puzzling given that we had been given a much higher price quotation verbally.

When we asked them to clarify why the invoice that we had received was for a lower price than the information we had been given verbally, the Metro Storage staff became defensive and claimed that we were attempting to get an unmerited discount from them. We requested to speak with the manager, who did talk to us but did not bother to address the situation, directing us back to their staff. This felt very threatening.

With only 1 day left in our contract and feeling we were in a very uncomfortable situation, we were left with the option to vacate the storage space in a hurry, squeezing all our things back at home for a lack of another storage facility.

Apart from that unfortunate event, which we hope was just the result of a misunderstanding, we did not have any complains and we found the storage space really nice, safe and clean.

What a well organized and efficient service. Amazing experience and would certainly recommend it to my friends and family.

Can't speak highly enough about Metro Storage.

I used the storage for 3 months while travelling and the service was great offering a good price and a discount for the first 8 weeks. The facilities are clean and easily accessible. I also had to postpone my last date several times due to a long wait for my new apartment and Metro Storage were very tolerant and flexible. Especially Laura always gave prompt replies and was very accommodating. I received a refund for the days I paid for but didn’t use the storage as well as deposit within a few days. Would definitely use their service again. Thank you!

I was stuck in US during covid and friends kindly moved my rental flat belongings into Metro ..a storage facility i found online ...I actually rented in Pimlico area
When i was eventually able to get back to UK i was pleased to see storage was exactly as advertised ..clean secure easy to access and for me a great location

Metro Storage Islington provide excellent services. Good location, fair and competitive prices, well-functioning and simple booking process. The facilities are great - the place is well secured, the storage unit was immaculate when moving in and the move out process was quick and easy, including the return of the security deposit. Staff was quick to respond to any queries. Would recommend to anyone looking for storage in central London.

My experience with Metro Storage has been excellent with first class services. The location was great, all the staff knowledgeable, extremely helpful and ever so kind. They were very efficient, storage price affordable and I was pleasantly surprised to get a real person each time I called instead of those robotic menus. Very well maintained, clean and spacious with easy access. Best customer service ever and I have referred them to all my friends at the UK Embassy as the go storage. Thank you Metro Storage.

No bathroom in storage to wash hands which is a minus
Very expensive compared to other storages. I took it last minute, based on a friends recommendation but should have done my due diligence. Moved as I found self service access / central for £97 less per month
