A very friendly hostess, and excellent breakfast in an ancient cottage. There is a cosy private sitting room with wood burning stove, and it's a lovely setting for peace and relaxation.

Stayed in the Shepherds Hut - and will return! It was a truly beautiful experience in every way. Peaceful, private -perfect. Simple but still comfortable - even the outside loo thingy was highly civilized and clean as was the delightful outside shower with hot water! Nothing but the sound of birds and occasional sheep and the odd distant cock crowing - but not too much! Breakfast delivered in a hamper at the hour of your choosing - meat cheese breads cereals yoghurt berries and fruit and all - enough to save a bit back for a snack later after a long glorious walk on one of the many routes that can start at this spot. A cute old pub just half an hour walk away or 5 mins in the car. The hosts were helpful and lovely - and non intrusive. A wind-down experience like no other.

A nicely decorated, homely place to stay in the real countryside. The owners were very friendly and helped me to keep the fire going in the sitting room! Really liked the privacy of the annexe. I appreciated some of the small things since I stayed with a toddler - they found some toddler cutlery for us to use, and all the catches on the doors are high up beyond his reach. The owner recommended a lovely little walk that was just the right length for my little sons legs. The path to get there is a small muddy country lane, but my car handled it fine.

We have been sleeping in a cabin up the hill, about a year ago. Very romantic, very quiet, very friendly owners. Good place to start hiking. What a beautiful place. We loved it.

Stayed in the Old Dairy, very spacious and warm, loved the underfloor heating. Friendly welcome, everything we needed and lots of lovely walks on the doorstep.

Liked: Loved the beautiful secluded location. Really felt im nature and with the back to basics feeling with boiling and cooking on a campfire and the outdoor shower, felt completely refreshed. The hut was amazingly insulated and the bed was really cosy and comfy. The walks around the hills start from the front door of the hut and you can visit some lovely pubs in the nearby villages of Little London and Shere. Gill our host was very welcoming and provided us with a delicious breakfast every morning to our door and told us about the different walks we could do in the local area

Disliked: Nothing
