Service was good and I asked for engraving to two shower valve plates and wanted the H for hot water on the left and The c for cold water on the right but once I got it home I noticed that it was the opposite to what I asked and now I have had to order two new chrome plates as it’s ruined and it can’t be rectified

Took a brand new watch to have 2 links taken out, the guy behind the counter took a hammer to this brand new watch and was beating it. When I got it back it's all scratched and dented and the link pins were still sticking out. When I confronted the lad he said I can send it off to be repaired... I don't think so! £200 watch now battered. Absolutely fuming. Tried contacting timpson, I've had no reply!

Unfortunately I had an unpleasant experience on (9! Friday 29 April 2022 just before 11am). I approached the till area where the gentleman was working and at first instance I was not welcomed and in fact barely acknowledged even though he didn’t appear pre-occupied with something or some else. Nonetheless, I proceeded to ask about how much it would cost to change my car key battery. I was shocked at the price of £14.95 which seemed extremely pricey for me but I agreed to the service anyway. Once he had changed my battery, he pointed out that my car key is likely not working because the button for unlocking is broken internal (can’t quite remember the name of the part). So I asked to clarify, is the reason my car hasn’t been working because of that and not the battery, to which he said yes. I asked if he could fix it, he said yes and it would take 30 mins. I asked him to fix it and he looked slightly confused by my request then clarified with me and was going to do the job. I asked before he started whether it’s possible to not have the battery change and instead just have the other new part welded since that was the actual issue (It was quite a lot to pay an additional £15 when I didn’t come expecting to spend so much). Instantly he looked at me looking irritated and said “I’m confused now, what are you asking me”. Before I could answer, he snapped and called me “unethical” for my request and refused to complete the job. He gave me my key back and said I can go somewhere else because he’s not having that. I felt embarrassed, belittles and confused by the whole exchange, especially given another customer was there. I would have understood if he had said a simple “no it’s not possible to do that you will have to pay for both jobs” but I was taken aback by his reaction. I appreciate that he didn’t make me pay for the batteries but I left on a sour noteZ Overall, the customer service experience was unpleasant, I would be very nervous and reluctant to come back both for prices and the coldness.

AVOID!
The jacket has not been washed! Pockets have not been repaired. This "service" cost me £140. I recommend finding another dry cleaners and clothes repair. Or throw your things in the trash right away, you will save your £140.

Great place to get your keys cut (including car keys), batteries changed (be it in a watch or a car key) or to get your strap changed. It's worth mentioning they've got a "lifetime" car key battery warranty.

They also have a number of personalised gifts like hip flasks, zippo lighters, metal beer steins etc. with engraving available.

In terms of dry cleaning it's always been timely and the cleaning was top notch. I've never used their shoe repair services but have heard a lot of good stuff about them.

One stop shop for all these smaller things.

Phoned up to get a quote for a replacement key cut for a standard euro cylinder. Was quoted £4. At the shop was greeted by a very arrogant man, who had a bit of attitude. All of a sudden the price changed to £7. The guy arrogantly confirmed that it was a euro key, but he didn't quote £4. I could not be bothered to argue as I made a special journey to get the key cut, but I won't be coming here again. By the time you add up travelling to another shop, I would have spent the difference anyways. It is immoral to change your prices like that, and the attitude of the guy stinks. You cant speak to people in that tone. At the end of the day, you are only a cobbler, not the King Of England where it is beneath you to speak to people in a humane manner!

Absolute fantastic service. Big thanks to Nick. My car key was broken by another car battery replacement person and they couldn't fix due to either lack knowledge or just new to the job. But Nick got my car key working in no time at all. So friendly and professional. Will recommend this branch to my friends and family!

Have used this branch of Timpsons numerous times over the last few months for watch strap alterations just after Christmas and most recently to have a dog tag engraved. Every time we've visited we've had a really positive experience. The costs have been more than reasonable, we've had no problems with the work we've needed doing and the chap that works there is always really friendly and helpful. I'm not sure of his name but he provides a great service and this is the reason why we keep returning.
