Jimmys Shoes

I've had two really good experiences of buying shoes at Jimmy's. Both times, Charlie had immediate rapport with my three-year-old daughter, listened to both of us, found one or two options that would suit from a big range, and sold us a good pair of shoes. We were in and out very quickly (in my experience this is essential when going anywhere near a shop with a preschooler). The shoes we got weren't cheap but I think they sell shoes at a range of prices, and they were certainly good quality.

There is a broader than expected range of brands for a small store: Havaianas, Crocs, Clarks, StartRite, Asics, Onitsuka Tiger, Geox, Hunter, Hatley and more.

However there are limited styles - 2 x Onitsuka Tiger kids shoes and 3 x Asics kids. Also, many of the styles we selected were sold out.

Staff were very helpful and proactively ensuring that people in the store were assisted.

My kids were happy with the fitting: 2 leaving with shoes and one without as his choices were out of stock.

Not a generous returns policy with only a 2 day allowance and "approval" required, so choose carefully!

Be aware that shop has a no returns policy. They initially said it was due to covid but when I challenged this they then said that they do not accept returns. Bought some hiking boots which on reflection we felt were not sufficiently sturdy/waterproof for our needs. Attempted to return them unworn 2 days later, on the assumption that a small shop such as this would accept returns as good customer service. Instead they quoted the Shop Act at me and refused. Have bought my son's shoes here for years but will not be returning.

Great place! Had to buy shoes for nursery for my ten month old daughter. They took proper measurements and explained what is best for this age and were very friendly and kind. Will be coming back!

We always come back in this shop for new pair shoes for kid. An owner is very welcoming, he knows his regular clients. Measuring is perfect

This is a nice shoe shop with a good variety of brands and really helpful, kind, patient staff. The man (owner?) is a different story. I bought my daughter her first shoes here and came back a few months later to try some new sizes and was helped by the same lovely woman. I didn’t purchase any shoes this time as they didn’t have any colours that I liked and when I was leaving the man came up and said next time they’d charge me £20 for trying on shoes without purchasing anything. I was there for 10 mins and the shop was empty. I cannot believe this customer service and will sadly not be returning. Who gets off treating people like that? Especially parents - buying shoes for kids isn’t easy!

This is a great place I am so sad it is closing down please support this business while you can 😊. The staff is friendly hygiene is great and overall amazing!

I'm so happy with the service and the selection of brands in the shop. We purchased shoes for my three year old and got fantastic service. I'll be going here from now on and recommending it to friends.
