They were SO helpful today when I came in to get my daughter her first pair of school shoes. I had my crazy 12 month with me and they were more than helpful. The only reason they are getting 4/5 stars is because it's mad that the kids section is down 2 flights of steep stairs, with no lift to get down there

Our little girl got her first pair of shoes on Saturday, very quick to be served. Lady was patient when she was upset about being measured. Good selection of shoes. Only downside is the kids department is downstairs with no lift, not ideal for those with prams!

I'll start off with the positives, the children's section is downstairs and although initially seems impractical is actually perfect for little ones running around unable to escape unless they climb a daunting big staircase. The sales assistant was lovely, she was great with the children and very informative.

Clarks gets two stars because they size the foot exactly, so there is literally no room for growth or in fact a thick sock. For example they have the super thin socks for the kids to wear whilst trying the shoe on which isn't a realistic sock to start with. I believe they size exactly so you frequent the shop because the shoes last 2 months before the kid has outgrown them. This is certainly the case with my 1 year old and 3 year old.
Woking Clarks is the same, we have had this experience all the times we've been and in the end actually decide to up the size by a half of our own accord because it's a better fit with socks and a little growth.
We understand feet grow quickly as a child but I think the shoe should at least give room for a thick sock and a tiny amount of growth.
We love Clarks shoes, the quality is great, but I think they could improve on the above aspects for customer service, value and experience.

My advice is to go with some thick socks to get a truer size

I have to say, we were rather disappointed with the lack of customer service and awareness. We went into the shop with a purpose of providing them with some revenue but the shop assistant ignored us, spoke to customers who had entered the shop after us and didn’t acknowledge our presence, we were completely blanked, which overall was disappointing and made us leave the shop and take our business elsewhere.

Great service from a lady with dark hair and a fringe today! She was very helpful and was happy to put shoes by for us to have a fully days shopping. Thank you so much for great service!

Served relatively quickly, first couple of shoes didn't have the correct size but found several other pairs for my son. Taken to the til and served politely and efficiently. Of course will return.

Full marks to your assistant Finola who showed excellent customer service today in the store. Two kids, both of whom wanted new school shoes exactly the same size and design as their existing shoes (which were tired but still wearable).
What weary parent wouldn’t have caved in to their whingeing after a long wait in the “back to school frenzy”?
Luckily, Finola realised that a long term customer relationship is more important than pushing a sale today and told the kids to come back in a few months when their feet had grown and they really did need new shoes.
Fantastic. Thank you so much!

Very poor customer service from a female member of staff on the afternoon of Saturday, 8th October 2022. Actually, customer service was non existent! My son said he would take me out shopping and asked what I wanted. We were enjoying our day together. I asked for a pair of black shoes, so we walked into the Guildford store and approached the staff member. My son told her what I was looking for. She simply pointed and said "Boots are there, those are there and these are there", whilst not budging and inch and no trace of a smile. That was the extent of her 'help'! I was under the impression that Clarks was a reputable company; at least they were when my children were very young. Absolutely shocking and rude! We made a quick exit. On our way out, my son asked a male staff member by the door if the manager was around. He said no. Very disappointing and would not recommend. That lady needs re-training when it comes to people skills or better still, would be better suited to a job for lone workers!!
