Ark Acton Academy

This school is very bad not a good choice, wont say to much as i am scared to get in trouble but i dont suggest going to the terrible school.About 80% of the teachers cant teach.Nearly all the students are rude and disrespectful.Most of the teachers are not helpful at all.The new head teacher tried to make it better but only made it worse.Hes has a bad temperament and get angry very easily at students. Basically dont go to this school cause it is not good.

this school is rubbish as i am a student there my math teachers breath stinks really bad and he has a 100 mints in his draw the teachers dont know how to teach they probably dont have degrees and if Ur coming to this school be prepared to live a rubbish school life and be prepared to flop ur gcse

This school is a bad school, i know this because i know some people who went there and they were fine before they left but once they started fitting in they turned out to be so horrible to them, Strongly recommend for those who want there child to get education and make friends , this school isn't the place for them. The students have no respect whatsoever and they have a terrible attitude towards others. Ive walked past that school and have seen students smoking, and on my way to school they have even been bringing alcohol and stashing it in their bags.

Full of loud and disorderly students. My commute involves driving past this school and although I've never been a student, know anyone who has or currently attends Acton High School, I have to point out that in the past 10 years, a lot of their students exhibit poor, anti-social behaviour from the experiences I've seen outside the premises on the main Gunnersbury Lane road.

The students are often rowdy during the mornings, tend to congregate and loiter near the bus stops and even impede traffic on many occasions by running across the road unexpectedly and even in front of large vehicles which rendered me curious to research further by finding out what Ofsted and the media had to say about this school. You could say this applies to most schools nearby but the teachers stood outside the gates are yet to make any impact on ensuring they're well behaved even just out of the school grounds. For 2017, it was rated as Inadequate and one of their inspectors backed up my claims indirectly about my initial point of suspecting students' behaviour. This read as follows on page 1: "The behaviour of some pupils in lessons is very poor. Some teachers do not take swift enough action to challenge this. Some pupils’ behaviour at break- and lunchtime is unruly and pupils’ punctuality is poor."

Furthermore, the fact that the headteacher and deputies have not been in their positions any longer than 2016 signifies a turnover/dismissal trend for unknown but potentially underlying worrying reasons. Note that they were both recently suspended by the Ealing Council on 26.03.2018 for disclosed reasons which weren't made clear. This further adds to the issues faced internally/externally by students and staff alike and doesn't give off a good impression to the learning and physical environment surrounding the school.

Although some may argue this is an unconventional review for a public education institution and while one may even question if this is a fair representation of the school and its full performance it is capable of should circumstances change, it's suffice to say as of early 2018 that I'd recommend avoid sending your children to this secondary school for the reasons above which have become public knowledge and are readily available for view online. For instance, Ofsted reports are generally a good indicator for a school and if the way in which it brings up their students is a red flag, it's generally not going to be a favorable outcome for all parties involved. Lastly, it is also given a 2/5 score overall by schoolguide.co.uk which ranks and analyzes in-depth statistics of the school.

Parents and Guardians - Please send your children elsewhere and don't look back.

This school seems like a typical high school but it is unfortunately not, I will now expose the errors in the school. A main factor in the decline of good gcse rates in acton high school is the fact that most teachers do not bother coming in to teach their lessons and most of my classes are filled with supply teachers that the school hired from Nisa Local and Spar. I once saw a cashier working a Morrisons, she was a nice woman but what confused me was that 2 weeks later she was working in acton as an A level science teacher. This school is a shambles and people laugh at me when I say i go to this school. But what really irritates me is the fact that I am supposed to be doing Computing for GCSE but the computers hardly work and are struggling on a illegal copy of windows 10. Embarrasing to say the least, but when you thought I was finished ridiculing this poor excuse of a school, trust me this is only one horrific example out of many. There is only one teacher who is respected and very much qualified and this Mr Merton. ML Paul

I have never heard of a school that gives you a detention for asking for help in a lesson or to use the bathroom. The only way that your child is able to use the bathroom during lessons is to obtain a "Toilet pass". This will only be given if you provide a doctor's note. 🤯

This a school that teaches your children how to stick to a strict regime of actions and routines that will not allow your child to grow. You are not allowed an opinion whatsoever and taught to obey only. Should be a dog training school. If you want your child to be a Leader.... STAY CLEAR!

Okay. why I rate this school a 1 is because of the rules. Like bro excuse you I’m not going to a 40 minute detention because I looked away from the board 💀💀💀💀💀 and the “muga” are actually giant cages. Not to mention that we aren’t allowed to use the bathroom at all unless it’s break or your on your period. And another thing, the “teachers” don’t actually the have a giant smart board that does everything for them. And the homework holy cow so much it’s like people don’t think us kids have a life outside of school 💀💀 PLEASE FOR YOUR CHILDS MENTAL HEALTH DO NOT SEND THEM HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- an extremely unhappy ark acton student
