Had carpet fitted yesterday looks good .BUT my days charged an extra 30 pounds to take up 6x6 bit of vinyl then left it with me to get rid as all the off cuts and couldnt even hoover up to make it nice .stay well away.the salesman never said a word about removal or at least hoover carpet so it looks good for customers. I'd never use scs again

Would recommend ScS. Mathue who helped us was brilliant. Because of my needs it was very difficult to find a suitable sofa. Alot of them were too soft and I couldn't get off of them. There is a lovely selection and it is good quality. Anyone else would've been stuck for choice. I'd nearly given up when Mathue found us the perfect sofa. We also got a very good price for it. All in all it was a very good experience.

We had a mess up with the fitting. Just a mistake. Wasn't hugely bothered as the man who fitted got it sorted. The problem I had was with the company directly. After our carpet was re-ordered we had no communication from the company to say there was any delays or problems. We were told that we had been put on priority. Heard nothing for over 3 weeks, called up to find out what was going on. I was told by the lady on the phone that she'll have to speak
to a manager and I'd get a call back in the week. Over a week goes by and still no call back. Called them back up to again find out what's supposed to be going on. Was told my carpets were due into the store on the Tuesday two days later. Tuesday goes by. No call again. No communication. Call them back up to chase them up again. Finally get somewhere. My daughter's bedroom at this point had no carpet for about 6 weeks. Bearing in mind that the carpet from order originally took 2 weeks and then we were supposedly on a priority for the re order. No customer service, very little help from there staff. Shambolic is probably the word to use here.

Salesman not pushy. Very helpful. Got a new sofa coming in the new year. Carpet for bedroom very soon. For 5 stars it shouldn't cost 100 pounds for delivery.

2 stars one for delivery people who was brilliant they went above and beyond to get us a loan sofa as SCS decided not to tell us that our sofa wasnt actually being delivered like the emails stated so they could only delivery our arm chair. The customer service is awful. 4 delivery dates and still no sofa and they dont even bother to let us know it actually isnt being delivered so having to take time off work for no reason. Now they dont even know where our sofa is. We was might to have our sofa end of august still havent got it now its November. Our sofa is apparently lost and they dont know where. Never using scs again!!! Communication is disgusting!!!.

I am very disappointed with the way customer service has treated us!
Our furniture was faulty, and we have to put up with it until after Xmas 🤬

TLDR: Buying carpet was fine, but getting it fitted through SCS is a nightmare.

The experience of choosing carpet, getting a survey and of course paying was easy but that is about all that has been easy since ordering our carpet from SCS.

The first problem we discovered was that the job was booked to fit our whole house on the same day. Despite the sales person suggesting, and then clarifying, that they could fit on two separate days to make it easier. We could have changed the date but it would have delayed fitting by a few months.

Now, for the second time, we've cleared out 5 rooms of our house ready for the carpet fitter and they haven't turned up. The first time we were given the courtesy of a call the night before. After all the carpet was lifted, furniture moved into the bathroom and kitchen or dismantled.

The store were able to help find an alternative fitter a few days later but we were left with bare floorboards in the middle of winter with small children who were then unable to access most of the house.

It turns out that perhaps the reason they were available was because they were pretty average fitters. And unprofessional to be complaining about how much they hate laying carpets in living rooms. The problems were confirmed when we had an SCS surveyor around to assess the problems. Amongst other carpet problems we also had oak woodwork on the stairs and oak skirting damaged.

After the survey we then had to wait about 4 months to get someone to sort the problems out. I called the day before they were due, to confirm they were coming. We'd spent the 2 days before again packing up furniture and getting help (I have a medical condition so can't lift heavy furniture) to move the heavy items.

On the day, by 11:30am, and several calls to customer service, it was confirmed that the fitter isn't coming! No chance of getting it scheduled any time soon either, so again we started moving furniture back into the 5 rooms cleared out.

In my experience the process of buying carpet was fine but the process of getting it fitted, and getting problems sorted out has been a nightmare and completely unacceptable.

8 months after ordering we still haven't had our carpets fixed and replaced (where they fitted a piece with a hole in it) and are trying our hardest to persist with this knowing we're going to have to again move all our furniture.

It would be much easier to just accept the terrible fitting job and put a rug over the hole, staple the carpet on the stairs so it doesn't fray any further and make a feature of the lumpy bits. But then I'd be reminded of SCS every time I noticed these things. So I'll persist so I can eventually just forget about the whole experience if I can.
