Sadly it's a battle with pushchairs and walkers in the narrow aisles die to the building design to get in or out. The post office is mind bogglingly downstairs although there is a lift. The staff are excellent.

I went here to buy a small bottle of water not to pay for Newcastle airports water bills and seeing they get their water from us the dales where I am from the prices should be much lower!!! My God countries who need water to survive sell it much cheaper!!! UK water is far too over priced and spring water is not spring but tap water sold as spring water or mineral water... It was raining and had I had a bucket I would of collected my own water and sold it for a penny a bucket full now that's how it should be!!!!

Everything seems overly expensive and is often either grubby, dusty or damaged. I have yet to meet a friendly member of staff, to be quite honest and will probably avoid it from now on.

First of all, this is one chain I found in every part of UK that I visited. From Heathrow to Durham, every airport, almost every market, had an outlet.

What I liked about WHSmith was the following (i) I love to buy stationary and they had offers and deals on most of the stationary with purchase on purchase offers (ii) well organized shops (iii) shop in A gates in Heathrow that was books only.

There is a predictability in WHSmith. Was also suprised that the top 10 did not change from London to NewCastle to Durham. Nice to know that what was being promoted as top 10 was actually top 10 and not a rip off

WHSmith store and Post Office ( located downstairs ) are located on the Market Place and provide a wide range of stationary books cards and accessories. Always well stocked and usually a discount on offer. Post Office staff are friendly and helpful with lots of knowledge on national and international deliveries, as well as self service option to beat the queues.

I’ve never bought anything in WHSmith it is extortionate. The post office is not geared up for all the customers who need assistance with passports, sending parcels, paying bills, changing money etc it is understaffed and you will queue for ages

Post office is a torment when the self service is off as it was today.

To make excuses about the strikes is not good enough as in end they are still working today and the self service being switch off caused cues to go back far enough to start going up the stairs.

I understand that not everyone wants to use self service but if you only have 2 members of staff on it would help to cut some of the issues.
