The staff in the cafe are just lovely, even when they're very busy, always cheerful. They have good deals from time to time too. Their cream teas are lush; the tea itself has great flavour, the scones perfect and there is a choice of jam. We opted for the Summer Berry which is absolutely delicious.

The store is always clean and well stocked, the produce always of fantastic quality and their new vegan/veggie range is superb.

And something a bit left field....M&S dog food! My dog loves it and he's quite fussy. It doesn't stink like normal dog food, it actually smells more like human dinners. It's only a few pennies more expensive than other supermarket brands, but surely our best friends are worth it?

Lynn was amazingly helpful! She even carried our tray to our table as she saw I couldn’t carry a child and a tray.

Food was delicious and the customer service was 10/10 i will be definitely back.

On visiting the store yesterday 06/09/22.I was surprised to see fresh Unwrapped loaves of bread on a table by the entrance door! I for one would not purchase and a member of staff totally agreed with me.People touching them, coughing and sneezing over them.Areally silly idea. Also the bottled alcohol just inside champagne, bucks fizz etc,saw someone walk in and take 1 other day.

This store is always well stocked and has lots of options for someone like me whose diet is dairy free and soy free because of my baby’s allergies.

What I love about this store though is the cafe. They have a nice well lit space, enough high chairs and the selection of food, although small, is still quite good. The staff in the cafe, Especially Trudy, are amazing! Trudy was thoughtful enough to asked me if i preferred decaf coffee because Im breastfeeding (which i always forget to ask for because mum brain(. Also, she and colleage made sure that my order was dairy free and soy free by checking the ingredients. So thoughtful and so accommodating.

I took some food products to my daughter in University, when she looked she was horrified and said in front of her student friends "It's not M&S"!!!
Now they call her "M&S girl."
The taste and quality you get is worth paying a little extra for.
I am off to M&S this morning to do a big shop for my daughter and take 225 miles to University.

Big thank you to Marion for helping me sort out an issue with a gift card. Marion went above and beyond with her assistance.

Food hall good, staff helpful. Why so much veg and fruit in plastic ? Also the Olive sourdough loaf at fresh bakery that I love has reduced drastically in size and costs more!

This seems to me the best supermarket in Chelmsford, everything looks right, organized/tidy, cute and rich. The cafe seemed friendly looking. I could choose it over my local one...
