I had the worst checkout experience at M&S Tolworth. I went in to purchase fresh bread and picked up freshly cut loaf which was priced at £1.00. When I went to the checkout it scanned as £1.90 so I went with the checkout operator to show her the price. She stated that a member of staff has put them in the wrong place. I asked her to speak to the manager as it was a staff error and the price should be honored and then the bread should be moved to the correct location.

I waited for 5 minutes and was then greeted by a manager named Jacob, i explained the situation and advised him that his staff has already checked the price. He refused to believe his own staff and said needed to check it with his own eyes. I walked over to the bread section with him so he could check out the price. He told me sometimes customers put the items in the wrong place. I told him that I would accept that explanation if there was one loaf of bread that was displayed in wrong place but there was at least half a dozen. He then went on to say a member of staff has displayed the item in the wrong place and it is my as a customer's duty to check that the ticket description matches the item I am purchasing.

He refused to let me have item at the marked price although it was a member of staff that had made the error. I felt that there was NO customer service and there was certainly no element of customer is ALWAYS right. My opinion is that if the managers behave in this way then what would you expect from the rest of the floor level staff at the store.

TOLWORTH. MARKS AND SPENCER. UNDER TOLWORTH TOWER. Excellent food. Delicious sandwiches. Steaks ...you cannot go wrong cooking an m and s steak...the meat is tender and top notch. Freshest fruit that is superior to any other (in my humble opinion) to all other supermarkets. Staff at tolworth are lovely too.😍

I had the WORST customer service experience at this M&S in Tolworth on Ewell Road. For some reason, I kept getting shocked (electrical static) when I reached for things on the shelves. It happened four times :( Two female employees kindly explained that it could be because of static and it’s happened to them. I appreciated their empathy so I continued shopping, but when it happened the fourth time I turned to the nearest employees, Michael and Cameron, who told me that they’ve never heard of this before, but it could have something to do with my shirt or my shoes being a conductor for electricity. I wore boots with rubber soles, so I’m not sure how this could have been the case. However, I won’t pretend to be an expert on electrical current or conductors. I told them that it could be worth looking into because it’s happened to me several times today and even during a previous store visit, it’s happened to other employees and what if it happens to someone with a pacemaker? They tried to get me to touch the shelf again to ‘prove’ that I was feeling static, and told me that the previous employees only told me they’ve felt the shock of the shelves only to seem relatable to me, because they have never heard of it before. Of course, I refused to touch the shelf. Although I was clearly in distress they found it pretty funny, and when I told one of them it wasn’t a joke he said ‘to me it is.’ In summary, Michael and Cameron were rude, arrogant and dismissive. Instead of being professional they acted like children on a playground. I left the conversation feeling angry and sad. I will never spend my money in this store again. It’s not worth the anxiety. I’ve worked in customer service before and I could never have imagined talking to or treating a customer the way I was treated yesterday.

No toilets.

Wasn't allowed to return my clothes here as apparently they did not stock them. And was encouraged to go to another store. Even though I was told I could return them at any local store.

Not really impressed tbh.

Great selection of foods though.

It's an M&S with a good selection of food and a free car park.
Update 10/22. The new self checkouts look nice and work well with Barcodes. If you buy loose items, you need to look for the tiny lookup item tab. This is really unintuitive.

Good food selection and a wide variety of wines and spirits.
Fresh bakery tucked around the back. There is also a small seating area. All wheelchair accessible.
The big disappointment is the toilets have been closed for good, this has been confirmed by the store. Thus the 3 stars!
Parking free for 1 hour, but you must make sure you still get a pay and display for your vehicle.
A small selection of Wonens and Children's wear, no mens for some reason?
A good range of flowers and greeting cards.
Convenient store!
Bring back the Loo's please!
