The shop itself is ok however the security who thinks he’s the manager makes me choose Sainsburys next door, not only does he verbally abuse customers he dishes out lifelong bans for just returning to the shop the same day. With the lockdown now being lessened and pubs being allowed to reopen how is a lifelong ban appropriate especially when dished out by the security guard who is employed to watch for shop lifters not to target someone who had to return as she had forgotten something disgusting behavior from someone who has no right to behave so rudely towards customers, when his job is security for theft He is definitely one of this people who is frustrated with his every day boring job so self promotes himself when the manager isn’t looking.

This shop has a good range of goods and terrific staff. It shouldn't be worried about the over-priced competitor next door. Walking into Sainsbury's Local is like a morgue by comparison. Soulless.

I have an app called yoti and it has my passport as ID and I tried to buy red bull and the employees said that they cant accept the ID. Left the store and searched on Google if Tesco accepts the app called yoti and the app said it accepts the ID.

I sometimes pop in first thing on the way to work and sometimes on the way home or in the afternoon. The staff have always been friendly, which I don't take for granted and I'd usually give 4 stars maybe even 5, but the self checkouts are never even near clean. Like their surfaces are covered in really old crumbs, old sauce stains and sometimes damp patches. I thought I should hold back but this has been months and months now and it's just grim, it's actually making me avoid the store and it's all because a little vacuum isn't used of a morning. I'm not even a clean freak or anything, it's just gross.

Self checkout machines are now card only so if you want to pay by cash you have to wait in the queue to go to the till section,

At 11:54 tonight despite being open until 12 I was refused cigarettes. Not impressed .. apparently the lights go off and key cupboards lock at 11:58 .. I doubt that very much . There were 7 staff chatting in a huddle and several frowned sorry faces at me . I’m no Karen and don’t complain much but I really hate when the team decide to close early because they can . Opening time is until midnight not 11:54 😣

Friendly staff good store layout isles clearly. Located on the high street. Taxi rank across the road. Bus station down the road that runs along side McDonald's.

The Best T-co Express! Great choice, open long hours, tireless Staff who are The Best all extremely helpful and friendly + very cultured and knowledgable about Cinema, Music, Sport etc etc. Sainsbo’s is good but Tesco rule Foregate Street & would deffo win in a S v T scrap!
