Sainsbury's Local

Many items don't have working barcodes to scan - I have never experienced this at any other supermarket or Sainsbury's. This is a consistent problem. I live in the area and have experienced this over the last year and a half. From vegetables to ice-cream to frozen products, too many times I've been left in the lurch waiting for 5-15 minutes for assistance either to have the situation resolved or told I can't buy x product because it can't be scanned and the code isn't working.

I have complained multiple times. I have called customer service. Nothing has happened. That's a poor feedback point for Sainsbury's customer service as a company.

Go to the Tescos 2 minutes away. Not worth the hassle. I would add the staff are generally unforgivably rude at City Road. There is a larger Sainsbury's up the road at Old Street, but it's always absolutely crammed.

For basics! Doesn't really have a lot but if you live near by and need staple products.

This branch is so so for a local Sainsbury's. Seems like most lunch time meals were in limited stock even when I was there just before lunch time. Store was a bit small and narrow. Seems a bit messy compared to other local Sainsbury's I've been too. Staff were ok

OK but don’t particularly appreciate having to talk my way in 5 minutes prior to closing time.

Update in 2022: Very smoothly run and reliable now.

A guy named Rahul '' Assistant manager'' whatever he seems to be however he has the worst customer service he is rude and aggressive! I've been going to this Sainsbury for a year now. All of the rest of the staff is good to me a every time I come in, but this one pacific man named Rahul is not a good fit for this role he has at Sainsbury always comes with problems always. He thinks he invincible. If you want to have a good experience here, Avoid this man at all costs!!!!

This place always smells so bad, it's like someone's just thrown up in there.

For a small local Sainsbury's it is well stocked and located on the old street roundabout is easily accessible to locals and visitors wanting a quick shop or to pick a sandwich or snack for lunch
