This store has a nice bakery section with a beautiful selection of sourdough breads. Giving it a low rating because of the extremely poor check our experience. I was there on Friday afternoon and all teller desks were closed, not a single member of staff was at the till to service customers. Instead they were directing everyone to self check out area. It's really inconvenient when you are buying more than a few items - the scanning process is slow, there is not enough space to put your scanned items, and no cash is accepted. Also it turned out I was supposed to weight and print lables for loose vegetables. There was no sign about that anywhere and no help was offered. A member of staff just pointed me in the direction of scales located the other side of the room and left me to figure it out myself. I wasted at least 10 mins on what a cashier would have done in under a minute. For that reason I will not be back to this store again, not until they give people their jobs back and provide customers with the service we are paying higher margins for.

I had one of the most humiliating experiences in this store. As I’m a regular customer here I’m still in shock and disgusted.
I popped in to do a quick shopping (some veggies and bakery) with my baby. I have been a customer in the this shop for more than 10 years but what I experienced it was beyond words.
The security guy started following me constantly and staring at me. Everywhere I looked he was staring at me which made me very uncomfortable and humiliated. When I finished with my self checkout he kept following me even onto the street when I had enough and I stepped back ( from the next door store entrance of Poundland) and asked him what his problem was and why he kept following and staring at me. He started laughing awkwardly and claiming that he just needed some fresh air and wasn’t following me.
I made a complaint but customer service doesn’t seem very helpful and very unprofessional with their careless copy/paste responses and they don’t even try to understand how the security guy humiliated me and harassed me with his intimidating behaviour. Just because someone pushes a pram it doesn’t mean that all mothers with babies are thieves! This is disgraceful! I will contact the head office and make another formal complaint especially after reading very similar issues here in the reviews.

I paid for my shopping and then realised your system did not pick up the 3 for £8 deal. A member of your team then made me take all my shopping to customer service and stand there for 10 minutes while she sorted it out. Meanwhile I froze to death as the store is like the Arctic, I have a lung condition since covid, hope I don't catch a flu. Then she refunds me £10.50 and charges me another £8. So because of your mistake I now have to wait for my £10.50 back. I was highly inconvenienced and now I'm out of pocket possibly till Monday. I'm sure you can appreciate the cost of living these days, especially 4 days before I'm due get paid. I understand I made a card payment and this is the process but this is not the first time or second or third time that your pricing is not up to date if your pricing was correct i would not have had this ordeal. Please sort it out ASAP, I was

Good store with a very rich selection of prepared meals. I would say 60% of all the food sold there is prepared meals. There are some good ingredients as well although the selection could be wider. There is almost nothing in this store apart from the food and drinks though

Why does a store, that's this busy have zero check outs open.
I wanted to pay by cash, and asked the lady on the self checkouts how I could do that, but she was so over run and busy that she just pointed to a till and then turned her back on me.
Had to ask her 3 times (between her serving other people), before she escorted me to a proper till, rang a bell and walked away again.
Very sarcastic, 2nd member of staff said 'soo sorry if you had to wait' with a smirk on her face.
It was not the waiting, it was the fact that I was standing in the middle of the self checkout 'enclosure' with people pushing past me not knowing where to go, and that the member of staff wouldn't/couldn't stop to help as she was by herself.
In summary, do not go here unless paying by card as the experience is just not good.

I went into this M&S on the way home to grab some soup (was feeling a bit unwell) the soup fridge was empty, I asked a customer service assistant if the soup had been moved (just in case) she politely said no it was all finished but she knows there was some in the back due to be put out. She asked if I had anymore shopping to do, she would go get me the soup whilst I shopped.she kindly got me the soup I wanted. Lovely customer service from Armajeet (hope I spelt correctly) if only more stores could have assistants like her. She could of easily just said no it’s finished and carried on, but she went above and beyond.
Thank you Armajeet.
