Sainsbury's Local

Good selection of food, okay prices, exactly what you would expect from a Sainsbury’s. However, the staff have absolutely no manners. I’ve let them off for their rudeness a few times before, until the other day a male cashier waved his hand in my face viciously and impatiently near enough hitting me after me not hearing him ask if I want a bag once. I wouldn’t do that to someone I know, let alone a stranger when I am working.

Great location for everyday items and for packaged on the go meals. Staff are very friendly and helpful and they always keep the place stocked. Open until 11pm every night so it's great for uni students getting some last minute things for studying. Some items are a bit pricey, but for the convenience, it's hard to complain

Short and compact place for quick shopping. It's very close to University of Leicester, located on London Road. So I visit here oftentimes, though prices for few items are high compared to other supermarkets. Staff is very friendly. Usually buy the bakery items here, which is nice. I got this amazing chocolate cake from here, a recommended one.

I use this store about three times a week. It usually has most of the foods and groceries I purchase on a regular basis. The staff are very helpful. There is no self-service checkout. It opens for long hours each day and hence prices are higher than would be the case with the larger supermarkets in this chain.

Staff in this Saintsbury is very rude.
They are comparing our home country.
Yes i know this is not india but the staff don't know that we Indian's respect people
We have some ethics but you people don't have any and you are using bad words to people it's not fair brother .

What a shame......

I just had a bad experience in this store (today 4January2023) that I regularly visit. The sales assistant is a tall Fair guy wore a round hat, (only way I can describe him as I didn’t notice his name, will do next time I see him, will write here again) I bought 2 M&M peanut of 220grams. When I went to bill it at the counter he first took the 2 packs of M&M and smacked it hard on the counter, I was kind throughout, I asked him will it not break? He says “no no it is strong, aren’t you strong?” I left the store in innocently. Returned after 10mins after I realised what I had just faced, I dunno what the guy’s intention was. I went back and exchanged the M&M, when I had to face the same sales assistant again, this time even after knowing I was first in line, he started billing for a customer behind me. This is outrageous, I mean what kind of people does Sainsbury’s hire?

I am new to the country and never had such experience before. Heard from a friend the store has a manager or escalation team, will try to find out.

This store has one of those buttfu.... manager you just don't want to meet.would avoid it in the future.
