Just been in the Tesco at Clay Cross. We decided to buy a roast chicken from the deli counter and waited 10 minutes after we had completed our shopping until they were ready. The lad gave it me in a clear sealed plastic bag, which I put in our trolley and went to the check out. When I picked up the chicken I noticed fat was leaking out of the bag with the chicken in. We asked the check out lady if she had a bag that we could put the chicken in….her reply was “ we don’t have bags any more “ and just carried on scanning the rest of our shopping. We said that we couldn’t put the chicken on the conveyor because it was running with grease. She totally ignored this so we left the chicken at the end of the checkout. She then produced a roll of blue paper towel and some wipes and asked other staff if they would clean it up so she didn’t have to close the till down. I could not believe that she didn’t even offer us some of the blue roll so we could have wrapped it round the chicken. Such a rude unhelpful woman. We have been going to Clay Cross Tesco for years, but we will never go again. Shame she had to get out of bed this morning.

This is my nearest Tesco and a nice store it is very clean and tidy all the staff are nice plenty of stock, but why keep moving stuff around! I know it's to keep us on our toes and to keep buying random stuff but I only shop for essentials (I leave the rest to the good lady)

Went into clay cross Tesco today only for tills open queues was backed right up staff can close tills but they won't get off their mobile phones to do some work the manger should get the staff to do their job not stand around on their mobile phones and ignoring costumers

I don't like self service tills it's just a waste of time the staff do it better your just trying to lay staff off and they deserve better

This is one of the better Tescos in the area. The staff are friendly, unlike other Tesco stores and the store is well stocked. It is what it is though, don’t expect personal service or to be acknowledged, it’s not the Tesco way. The car park is ok and there are some motorcycle bays
