Waitrose & Partners Guildford

Town side entrance closed with no notice to say what is going on. Clearly they only value customers who arrive by car. Reception desk staff unhelpful and couldn't care less. Staff uninformed about products and location in store. Given their high prices I think one should expect much better.

Some of the staff are lovely, especially the old gents on the tills. However, massively let down the security guard and the youths on the Deliveroo section. As soon as I walked in, the security guard at the time was following me around the store. As soon as I went to self checkout, the security guard goes up to the Deliveroo yob and they say, “has he stolen anything yet”. Well clearly was indirectly aiming that at me (I was the only person on the self checkout - the direction and the pointing at me).

I have never been so disappointed in a Waitrose store and I shall not be returning whilst that security guard and the yob are in the store.

Visited 6 September 2022 @ 12.50. The biggest issue seems to be figuring how to pay for car parking. Maximum 1.5 hours for 2 hours. 50 pence back if you spend £10 in store. Took me 2 attempts to pay, as instructions not clear. The parking attendant spent more time helping people trying to pay for tickets rather than check who hadn't paid 🙃

Great Waitrose in the heart of Guildford. I like the way you have to pay and display for parking £2 for 90 minutes but if you're shopping in Waitrose and spend over £10 they will refund this. It's a good parking option and one I wish they had done in Worthing, Sussex as people used to park in for work, shopping in town and leave no spaces for Waitrose! Lovely layout of store, easy to find what I was looking for, all stocked fully and lovely lady on self checkout this morning. If quality is what you are after you won't find better than Waitrose

They hardly ever have 1 litre bottles of Scotch anymore. Largest is 70 litre on most occasions. Also, the Guildford store has pay and display parking now, which is not very convenient, especially when none of the machines are working like today

Busy on weekends so you need to go early for a space. A pretty wide selection of foodstuffs. The wine and spirits section has a range between your 'every day' bottles and some fancier selections for special events. There's also a sushi counter, butchers counter and cheese counter.

Never again click and collect from here absolute nightmare. Received an email to park on the designated Click and collect point and call the number displayed there for 10 min I was just going up and down the parking looking for that designated point and the phone I am supposed to call. I asked one of the members of staff outside where that point is all they said was I’m not sure should be on the top left of the parking. After 10 min I gave up and I just parked my car paid £2 for parking which wasn’t refunded on the cash register as I did my order online. When I went inside I had to wait 20 min for them to find someone to bring me my order out.

Good quality produce as you would expect for Waitrose. Has sushi counter. Very empty off peak. Plenty of car parking spaces
