I shop at Tesco a lot but was disappointed that in the Maesycoed Road store there was only one beer on sale - Innis and Gunn - which is foul. There were lots of ciders and lagers but we are not all lager louts or West Country yokels!
In the Wellfield Road Tesco Express there was a good selection of beers - Old Speckled Hen, Ole Crafty Hen, Doom Bar and others.
Why such a poor (or non-existent) choice in the Maesycoed Road store? Don't tell me they had sold out of all the other beers.

Good parking. Helpful staff. Good range of products.

Given a four as not as easy to find items after the refurbishment last year.

Needed essentials this morning, says it’s open at 6am - got to Tesco at 6:30am, as I pulled in I thought I saw the lady opening, which I thought ‘good timing’! In fact, she locked the door!! Watched me pull in and locked the door, another person arrived and we waited for 10 mins - never came back! Very bad service. Looking at the reviews, this isn’t a great shop. Someone needs to sort it out!

The staff in this store need investigating. Its in a very convenient location and opens at 6. But it doesn't open at 6 at least not half the time. The door is often locked at 7 o'clock I have been told before this is to take delivery. In that case either have an earlier delivery, take on more staff to man the store or change your opening hours. Its ridiculous, when they are open the staff are cold and tend to grunt at you if you so much as have the audacity to speak to them. This morning was the worst, myself and 4 other workers trying to get our lunches for the day, met with a locked door again. Except this time the staff were there putting items on the shelf, I knocked the door and they ignored me. We knocked the door again and the staff member shook his head at us. We all have work to do. If there was a nearby alternative that 'opened' as early I wouldn't use the store again. My advice to Tesco is get new staff.

Not opening at correct opening times. Store managers need to address this issue, not acceptable for a big chain like Tesco.

They talk behind your back to each other like using bad language
if someone is messing around other person is trying to stop or explain to that child if its mother saying or explaining to the child and the worker saying to the other worker that child then using bad language its not on sorry usually its nice place its my local to do shopping or get some bits and bobs this was in maesy coed Road tescos cardiff

I think HR Need to take a closer look at this store as staff tend to spend most time smoking out the back or chatting amongst themselves during peek times.
The "older" female staff not very speedy with the lack of store product knowledge i.e (how much things cost) and product placement, with a total unprofessional approach to customer service
Perhaps staff would benefit From having training
On how to deal with all types of public interaction.
I would avoid this store and shop at Morrison which is just up the road.

I don't like the staff. The older lady always keeping a long face and not even cheering.
