Tesco Express

Went yesterday in Pontiprid with some errands and I bought something from Tesco. It’s as supposed to be small shop a bit untidy but was Sunday afternoon and not to many people for serving. I’ve got help immediately with my small shopping to finishing the transaction on the self check. I recommend for small immediate shopping

Staff are friendly security guard seemed nice up for a chat very apologetic about the que in awful weather, which is out of her control very polite young lady an asset to her team. Overall store was clean and tidy and very well stocked given the current pandemic.

The guy who works here is honestly disgusting. Every time I come into this shop and I don’t have my purse on me he ID’s me even though I was trying to buy paracetamol which is aged 16 and I have car keys in my hand. Every time I do have my ID he does not ID me. Honestly disgusting considering I look a lot older than 16! And all your other colleagues will serve me. Tesco you really need to change your staff. Again, he won’t accept a photo of ID but the big Tesco will. Make your mind up! The other reviews state exactly the same things too. Rude!

I was racially profiled here on 15/05/2022 and I am not surprised there are other reviews here that share their experience of being racially profiled by staff here.

I had an issue with one of my cards and asked the cashier to keep my shopping and would rush home to get my other card. He agreed. Only to return and find him wearing a chest Camera which he did not use for the white lady who was ahead of me and switched it on when he started serving me.

Being black you are evidently not allowed to have issues with your payment cards? Else they will shamelessly have a camera on your face to clearly intimidate you. If a white customer had the same issue I bet they would not care.

You need to train your racist staff. I officially made a decision not to EVER shop in any Tesco outlet due to this. I would rather walk for miles to look for Lidl or Sainsbury where I am valued as a customer and respected as a person of colour and they offer products at a sensible pricing. Disgusting!!!

Update 13/09/2022
Yesterday my bank card was stolen and used in this store for two transactions. I went there asked for a footage and the guy there said there are many customers he cannot go through footage. Told him I know the time(Mind you I made it there less than 23 minutes after 2nd transaction), his statement changed to he cannot access the cctv. You see, being black no one cares when your money is getting stolen especially when they can rule out no other person of color has been there in said timelime.

From the day they profiled me for genuinely using my card never stepped foot in any Tesco until yesterday and it felt wrong yet i was not buying. I made the right choice. After they declined , i went to the second store where the card was used and boom, its a white couple that was using my card. Tesco Broadway racial discrimination is rife. I bet they refused to help me based on my color but they have a problem with a person of color using their card .

Disgusting!!!

Is it out going to Tesco's but when you paying your money into Tesco's Tesco's statement on the phone talking about at the end of day looking out taking you been all because I've taken back
