AVOID. We have used A1 before and they were great - but on Saturday they left us completely abandoned and we faced a 2 hour wait with no communication and a frantic run to try and find the cab. The standards have gone WAAY down. We had to phone them around 7 times to work out where the taxi was - he kept saying '40 mins' and when we'd phone back after 40 mins they'd tell us 40 mins again. If they'd called us to let us know he was going to be late, or done anything at all to make it right - but when I got someone on the phone they made us wait 6 days to tell us they weren't even prepared to give us a refund for such terrible service. Please be warned. Not reliable.

Arrived even a little earlier, nice driver and fast ride. No upfront payment or hidden fees. Highly recommend and I'll use this company in the future.

The driver had no patience with special needs children took us to the wrong location then tried to rush us out of his taxi because he had another fare. Then charged me extra than quoted.

Unfortunately not reliable for school runs. Cabs don’t turn up on time despite booking in advance. Happened 2 times in a row so decided to go with Uber.

Very friendly and safe driver. Hamad drove me from St Albans to Watford hospital at night and he took some of my pain away by having a friendly chat with me all the way. Will use again.

Avoid at all costs. Horrible experiences, always late, especially when is order the day before the trip, calling every ten minutes it will be 10 more minutes, ending up waiting for 1hour. It's a joke, not a taxi company. They are very bad for taxi drivers and customers. It looks like the system is not working correctly.

I’ve given A1 Taxis a 5 star review after they went above and beyond to help me in my hour of need. If I could give them 100 stars, I would.
The office staff couldn’t have been more helpful, I mean they REALLY did things to help that they didn’t have to, and the driver was incredible - got me where I needed to be quickly and smoothly and was super friendly.
Having left my bag on the tube, complete with laptop etc, I knew the train terminated at Watford, but I couldn’t get hold of the station. I called the A1 Watford station office, and before I’d even finished explaining the situation, they’d walked to the tube station to help find my bag.
Incredibly, they found it! A1 offered to send me my bag in one of their cars, but the station staff needed to see my ID, so A1 sent a car to me at Amersham which arrived as my train got in, quickly drove me to Watford just as the station was shutting, reunited me with my bag, then A1 drove me home.
These guys have restored my faith in humanity. Great people, great taxi firm.
