I visited this Ealing branch of Cancer Research on the 26/02/20 at approximately 14:00. This is not the first time I have visited the branch, I try to make a conscious effort to purchase second-hand goods in a bid to support your charity and decrease my carbon footprint, each time I have had no issues until today. This particular visit left a bitter taste in my mouth. Upon entering the store I was quickly scowled at by one of the volunteers, not a smile, no hello, this is most certainly not how I wish to be treated as a potential customer. The lady was in her late 50's to 60's and wore a headscarf in a dark blue / navy color.

As I continued to move around the busy store the volunteer took no interest in any customers and made no effort to communicate with me. All the time she continued to keep her eye on what I was doing. As I moved from rail to rail she repositioned herself with a prime view of my hands. As if she expected me to steal something from the store! This whole experience made me feel extraordinarily uncomfortable. I am a man in my early 20's of tall stature and an unusual but not offensive sense of style, I have a well-paid job and a degree, I am most certainly not the type of man to steal from charity and I have spent large sums of money in your St. John's Wood store where I used to live. I believe without a doubt that this volunteer profiled me due to my appearance and proceeded to take it upon herself to follow me around the store for the duration of my visit; not even taking a moment to break from her relentless scowl as I left the store, I could still see her through the shop windows staring at me. Is this how you propose to invite new customers to your shop? I think not...

Been to this shop on the 27/05/22 to return an item I purchased in another Cancer Research UK store. It is a white dress that it see -through but realised when tried on later home. The manager of the shop, a woman between her 50s and 60s, refused to do so, asking me to return the item to the same shop where I bought the article saying that she could do it but she doesn’t do it. No sorry, no saying please, nothing. This is against the charity policy because any Cancer Research UK store can do this, as also specified on the receipt. The item I was returning is in perfect conditions, with tag on and payment receipt. She just did not want to bother, that’s all. Awful customer service!

This branch is a fantastic little gem of a store. The items are fairly priced, are in good condition (you can even find new designer brands at times for suitable prices), and they have a good variety of items and sizes. The staff are friendly and helpful, there's a lady who works there often; once i needed to get ready for an event and she went out of her way to help me match things and had good knowledge of fashion as well as sizes and was very nice too. Its clear the shop is ran by people who really care for it and it shows in comparison to other branches and charity shops I've visited. I usually find little treasures in this shop and try to visit everytime I come to the area.

A fairly small but busy store. The had a good selection of menswear and womenswear as well as accessories and brick a brack. The volunteers also seemed friendly enough.
