What's worse is the repair cost was 3 times the amount of another dealer who fixed it perfectly.
I also found the receptionist Roz really unfriendly and unwelcoming, but that's just my experience.
But it was a total surprise when they found it was a rear Tyre with not only the malfunction, but no sensor at all, they reckon it was broken off and never replaced way before I got it, will be going back when I finally get hold of one, hopefully Ford will get some soon.
I called up to say my handbrake had gone completely and my handbrake shoes needed replacing. They said they would take a look then could get me booked for the following day
I was not told they would charge me to take a look at my van, they charged me £135. I complained and they said they would give me a discount in the quote. It took them 3 days to provide a quote, not the next day turnover I was told prior to booking in with them.
They finally gave me a ridiculous quote of £745 for parts and labour saying it would take 5.5 hours to do and they’ve given a discounted rate of £15ph. So I was looking at £880 overall going with them after the first charge. This was 1 week before Christmas they were obviously cashing in.
I decided to wait until the new year when my usual garage had time Huber’s in shalford, they did not charge me to look. Guildford tyres told me the handbrake cable had perished but here was nothing wrong with the cable the quadrant had seized up. It cost me £530 to go here and it took them 3.5 hours, a big difference.
So I was basically charged £135 to find out I needed new brake discs as I already knew about the handbrake shoes and they were wrong about the handbrake cable. I appreciate when they looked the shoes fell apart but this would of been an obvious scenario for an experienced mechanic and the situation could have been avoided saving me £135. I’ve learnt to stick with who you know.
