If you are visiting Berkhamsted Castle, it's worth a very short walk to see the nearby Totem Pole.
There's some history to it, which is explained on the town website. The site used to be a wood yard.
It's best seen by walking along the canal - ideally also visiting the nearby pubs!

Just a pole.

The Totem pole is seen from the public side of the canal or road. To see it front on is only accessible by being on private property, which is a shame.
Otherwise, local to train station and town centre.

I wasn't impressed, it doesn't do anything, a pole should do more
