Rye Castle's viewing point

Rye despite being a Cinque Port is now a surprisingly long way in from the sea. This lovely viewpoint by the rather over-restored castle demonstrates just how far inland the town is.

Great views from here. Definitely worth a visit.

(Translated by Google) We give a day trip to Rye. It takes 20 minutes by train from Hastings. Once there, a quaint, quiet and manageable Rye awaited us. We strolled through the small streets and let the beautiful buildings and colorful gardens and greenery work their magic. There is so much to discover here and after a few hours you can still find something 😅.
The little shops have really nice things for sale. We looked at the castle and bought a drink on the roof terrace. 🍻☕️
So I was really excited about Rye and want to stay here one day. I can recommend everyone to make a detour here. 🚙 🚂

Wir geben einen Tagesausflug nach Rye gemacht. Mit der Bahn von Hastings bringt sie sich in 20 Minuten hin. Dort angekommen erwartete und ein malerisches ruhiges und überschaubares Rye. Wir sind durch die kleinen Gassen geschländert und haben die wunderschönen Bauten und farbenfrohe Gärten und Begrünung auf und wirken lassen. Es gibt hier so viel zu entdecken und nach ein paar Stunden finden man immer noch was 😅.
Die kleine Geschäfte haben wirklich sehr schöne Dinge zum Verkauf. Wir haben und das Castle angesehen und haben uns auf der Dachterrasse etwas zu trinken gekauft. 🍻☕️
Also ich war echt begeistert von Rye und will hier mal übernachten. Ich kann jedem empfehlen hier mal einen Abstecher hin zu machen. 🚙 🚂

Gruesome but interesting history about what was happening at that time. Wonderful views overlooking the area. Would recommend. The 2nd picture is of an old cobbled street leading to the harbor at the bottom where there is a hotel, cafe's and antique shops. The castle is run on donations aswell as buying tickets

There is a view to the horizon, in the summer look down there is a view of drunks in the beer garden.
