What a lovely place. Super knowledgeable, friendly guide. Very interesting talk about the Chartists (didn't know anything about them before we went but do now). Lots of information boards and a super guidebook. A lot of work went into restoring this property. Check out times before you go as it's not open that frequently. Lovely grounds for children to have a quick romp. Super carpark with very clean toilets. Would recommend a visit.

Unique location Chartist cottage. Excellent guide, John showed us around, giving context of Chartist movement and particular history of the cottage and the people who lived there before it became a National Trust site.

A super interesting visit, with a brilliant informative tour guide. You must book prior to visiting, but totally worth it.

Recently visited Rosdene cottage, although only a small property, it was a very interesting visit. Our National Trust hosts were great, well versed in the period history that lead to the establishment of "Chartist Cottages" and happy to answer all of our questions. I believe visit by appointment is necessary, please check as I didn't make the arrangements. Allow an hour for the visit.

Traditional "Chartist" cottage - available as a "camping within walls" holiday let. Limited opening times, check the National Trust website

Amazing place with lots of history and character.

The walk got he toilet is a little dark at night but it's well worth it and amazing grounds.

A simple and peaceful place to stay for a few days. Lovely old house from the 19th Century restored to original condition with minimal modern conveniences.
Electricity, a basic kitchen in the barn and simple bathroom facilities in a new block away from the house. The open fire is lovely. Huge garden and very quiet.
The perfect place to get away from TV, the internet and all other modern distractions.
