This is a hidden gem, I didn't even know it was here.
We went during the Easter holidays. All the staff were so friendly. The gentleman in the ticket office explained the history of the railway and talked us through the tickets and then told us all about the open days, very informative.
The cafe is also such a delight. Lots of cake options, including gluten free ones. I even saw a sign for gluten free sandwiches which is great.
Really reasonable price too.
Lovely clean toilets, lots of picnic benches and large open areas for putting a picnic down.
After going on the train we went down to yew tree farm to hold some chicks and see the goats and sheep. Lovely morning out 🙂

Lovely little railway line , there's a fantastic tea room , lots of picnic tables, nice clean toilets.
There are beautiful woods with a carpet of bluebells . We went on a Wednesday in early may , no prebooking required , not everything is open but it's perfect for little ones.

A little gem in the County side, check online for opening dates and to prebook to your tickets, a bit cheaper then paying on the day, great fun for a morning or afternoon

Lovely place to visit. Friendly and welcoming, with a nice atmosphere. A really not expensive afternoon out for a family, very reasonably priced. My grandson's had a great time on the little train. We will be going again.

A great place to spend the day whether your into trains or engines. Young kids will live riding on the old fashioned steam trains and there's also tractor rides. The cafes really nice with a good selection of drinks and treats. Would recommend if young or old

A hidden gem.

I've lived and more importantly cycled and explored the region for 10+ years and only found this two years ago. The cafe serves good coffee and food for a cycling rest stop, and the days the trains are running is always pleasant. Highly recommend if you have children, or love a steam engine.

If you're looking for the top attraction on your bucket list for Swale, look no further! This is it.
Here you will find many steam and diesel locos all in service at the same time that are presented to the public to perfection. Not just the locos though, the rolling stock, the permanent way, the buildings, the facilities, the staff.....all perfectly turned out. You won't find hardly anything here that resembles Booths scrapyard which unfortunately is the case at many other lines all open to the elements. The acres of land also turned out in pristine well kept condition. This treasure is like Kent's version of the Welsh narrow gauge railways. Well worth a visit, reasonably priced and I find it difficult to believe anyone can have a bad experience whatever the weather. Do yourself a favour and make a visit you won't be disappointed!!!
