Really liked Minnis Bay. Kept meaning to go and have a look, finally did and we will definitely be going back.
Sandy beaches with easy access, completely different to Herne Bay and Margate. There are only a few shops etc so a much quieter place, which won't suit some people...
The Tidal Pool is not as big as the one in Margate and don't know how busy it gets at peak times, but will be going back to find out.
The road along the coast raises up along the cliffs and gives beautiful views across the area and to Margate.
The only real negative is there are only, I think, two roads in, which is probably why it is quieter here.
I don't want to encourage too many people to go, as I'd rather it stayed quiet!!

We had a beautiful day yesterday. The weather was glorious and the beaches were practically empty (although it was whilst the kiddies are at school). Lovely stroll along the promenade and an awesome lunch at The Wave. We stayed until sunset and captured some amazing photos.
There was ample free parking along the parade, but if not there is a pay & display car park.
The Wave cafe/restaurant is highly recommended. Food was lovely and staff are friendly. There is another bar/restaurant opposite, but we didn't try that one.
Also, when the tide is out there is a huge rock pool for the little ones to explore. So check the tide times to be able to do this.
However, now for the bad comments. Be prepared for the awful smell of seaweed. The smell can be very, very strong and smells like manure. It can be very off putting.
When the tide is out make sure you be careful of the stranded jellyfish left on the beach.
The other problem is there could have been more toilets, as there are only a couple of places with portaloo's (which were clean), but some of them were locked, leaving only one at each end of the promenade, apart from in the cafe and bar I presume.

Beautiful accessable quiet beaches. Mostly sandy. What's not to like. Still has free roadside parking if you arrive early. Good toilet block in car park behind the cafes and restraunt. Only people on the first sections of beach but just a short walk along and the dogs can go on a lovely sandy stretch. A play park occupies an area just at the junction turning onto the seafront. There abundant food outlets both kiosk and cafes. I have never felt stressed by crowds at minis Bay. It's a lovely all round entertaining beach resort

Who doesn't love Rock pooling. Birchington / Minnis Bay is definitely one of my fave spots to explore and the Tidal Pool had lots of crabs to catch.

Big enough for the 5000. Thankfully not that many when I was there! Gently sloping soft sand into imperceptible sloping shoreline, be prepared to walk out a bit even at high tide to get to waist level, unless you're under 4ft !! Great for children. Bring food unless you're prepared to queue in the very busy restaurants.

Beautiful beach, certain areas have dog restrictions. A mixture of sand, stone and a lot of seaweed. A superb open space.
Quite a bit of plastic rubbish 😕, disposable cups etc....

What a fabulous place to take your dog! Loads of space even if loads of other dogs on the beach!!

I visited here in October 2022. This beach is close to Birchington seltation and there imare more beach activities here than at Birchington.
