Fantastic walk up Jacobs Ladder and across Brown Knoll, via the Trig point. The flagstone path making it relatively easygoing.

Great views and a great walk. Highly recommended if your in the Edale valley.

We stopped here on a whim, after we could find no parking space in Eadale. Decided to walk around (we have an OS map! We didn't just wonder in). Walking the marsh on a stony path always make us imagine who brought the stones in... Had a fantastic walk that saved a day that promised to be very annoying. Lovely place.

Getting here to Brown Knoll in strong wind wasn't easy today

A nice area to walk, as long as you go prepared and are reasonably fit. It is for those that love the outdoors and somewhere to walk to... it is not a tourist attraction with a car park.

Absolutely stunning walk and a great and quieter alternative to Kinder Scout. Breathtaking views

layby at the sheffield road has limited parking spaces and it is about 4 km to Brown Knoll. most of the route is stony path. you can stretch your route further from Brown Knoll to Mount Famine or Jacobs ladder.
