Nice local Train Station with trains traveling to preston and Manchester and onwards. Clean and tidy with a ticket office and collection machine too. Only a disabled toilet but a nice station only a minutes walk from Tesco. Platform 1 goes to Manchester, platform 2 goes to Preston.

Fairly new and modern station. Decent amount of free car parking but it does get full by around 8am. Not many seats in the indoor waiting area.

Terrible station. Why have a lift that’s often not working. If you’re unlucky enough to arrive on the last train (usually because earlier train was cancelled) the staff are very impatient for you to exit so they can go home, but with the lift not working be careful they don’t lock you in. This nearly happened to us, disgusted they don’t check everyone has left. Boasts a “big” car park but is always overflowing on week days with cars parked all down nearby roads causing a hazard.

Dreadful service and a complete disgrace, Friday night Preston -Manchester 21.02 on time- 21.05 cancelled, and there excuse no drivers? You must have more people dealing with complaints than actual drivers, what a country we live in. And you wonder why people don’t use public transport.

Best station I’ve visited for many years. I chose the carpaccio to begin which was delicious, followed by the sea bream. Service brilliant and the wine list also worthy of note. Thank you Buckshaw.

Good parking, modern station. Not sure why they bother to staff the station if they are going to be as rude and unhelpful as the gentleman working there yesterday. Previous experience with the machines not working and as I was running late, I asked him to print my tickets. The time he spent telling me that I should be using the machine and lack of efficiency in service resulted in me just missing the train and waiting for the then delayed next one! Is his job just to stand there looking bored? if it is, then it would be 5 stars from me......
