Tickets office staff are nice but the atmosphere of the station isn't that nice, feels more like it'll collapse in a big storm and near enough every door is closed apart from ticket office usually would like to have a little leaflet you could take to learn about the station. In all i personally only go there a couple-few times a year but every time it feels more and more like they need a full renovation instead of trying to mask over it but nice staff.

An attractive traditional grade II* listed railway station with a lovely historic footbridge. HSTs pass through daily and steam trains pass through weekly in the Summer.

Have nothing to complain about this station other than mentioned in previous comments, all the doors seem to be closed. There is a ticket office and when that is closed, you can still buy tickets at the machine. There are only two platforms here, southbound and northbound (You can read that vice versa of you like). You just cannot get lost here.

Great little station, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Main office locks around 2:30 ish I think, so no loos available after that time. Otherwise, all good!

Was fined because the ticket office was closed when it was meant to be open Monday at 6.30! all I had was cash. Thanks a lot you lazy c**ts!
