Updated and changed review status... The company contacted me after another member of staff reported my sadness and they really pulled out all the stops to make this betters.. and they did. Well done and big thanks

This place use to be very good, however my last experience was so poor I cant even bring my self to type about it. Poor admin, could not fix a simple fault and got oil all over the carpets. Happy to list a comprehensive break down of one of the worst customer experiences ever en counted should any one ask.

5 Star, excellent service. Cannot fault this garage for friendliness, helpfulness and efficiency. We came in despair unable to find parts but they did the research and found the parts required and even fitted us in there and then to do the work. Thank you so much Gary&Gill

I had my first service and MOT done at Northern Commercials, some while after I was aware there was an issue with the cold water tank alarm! Unsure if this could be connected with the service or MOT I asked if they would investigate, on inspection a wire poorly fitted by the manufacturer had been severed probably struck whilst in use . They repaired it in 20 minutes and all is now working again FOC many thanks to Ash and Jim for the speedy service. It a shame more companies don’t treat their customers in this fashion

Extremely disappointed with the service provided. Have used them a few times with reoccurring problem on van. They always have the vehicle for at least a week and the latest time I had a call to tell me van was ready, but upon collection has exactly the same issue as when I bought it in with limp mode and engine light. It didn't even make it out the forecourt.
They have now told me I have to go to Mercedes and they can't sort it (simple dpf regeneration will at least get me on the road again).
They seem to prioritise and look after big commercial contracts only so if you have a single van I'd advise go somewhere else.
The loss of work cos of the slow service with problem not rectified has put my business on its knees.
Staff seem polite and friendly but what's the point when no repair has been made with little effort to sort the issue after they've had over £1000 from me in last 6 months.
Best avoided and go to a smaller local garage.

So convenient to get an mot when I'm not working!! They have a team there until midnight and contrary to popular belief its not just commercial vehicles they work on. Everyone seemed to have a wealth of knowledge and experience. They now look after my van and kit car

UPDATE: After writing a complaint letter to the company we have received a refund and apology from Northern Commercials. It is a shame it ended up like this but sometimes I guess sh*t happens! At least they handled the complaint well and took it seriously not just fob us off. This is usually an indicator of a good company at heart even if some of their staff let them down on this occasion. Promoted review to 3 star.

We took our company Fiat Scudo van in for diagnostics as it was running rough, had the engine warning light on, a buzzing noise under bonnet and the interior fan wasn't working. After advising me it was probably best to take the van to a Citroen garage( !?! ) they eventually managed to connect their diagnostics equipment only to tell me it needed a new ECU and heater control unit on the dashboard. Best part was they said even if after spending nearly £3000 on quoted repairs that they couldn't guarantee that this would fix the problems and if it didn't I'd be stuck with the new parts - if it was needed on not. Being highly sceptical I decided to leave it at that and they charged me a "reduced" cost of £300 for their diagnostic work. After sending the ECU away for testing (it was fine) and much online research I traced the problem to the Comfort control unit. That only cost me £200 and fixed everything! Funny thing was the unit looks like a fuse box and was the part that was buzzing before I took it to Northern Commercials! They said when I went to collect the van that they stopped the buzzing - god knows how they managed that.
