The place was quite spacious so you can go with a big family and friends.
The best thing about this restaurant is that you can see how the item (food) will look like on menu page, so that you can order accordingly. As a complimentary we had salads, bread, hummus and charcoal grilled aubergine.
We had to get a takeaway bag because we ate too much bread and starters😭
We were waiting for our food. We ordered a side of chips. My Chair was facing the cooking station. I watched in disbelief as one of the young guys handed the bowl of chips to the waiter and as he did, he took a small handful of chips from the bowl and helped himself to chips which were for a paying customer. Little he know to me and my partner that that bowl of chips was making its way to our table. Once it came I declined the bowl of chips and told the waiter/ manager that I will not be accepting it, as he had put his hands on the food, and also helped himself to some.
The manager did apologise, but it felt as if it’s said for the sake of saying it. We then got a fresh bowl of chips, all the while I had my eye on it being prepared.
I also witnessed a witness handling a customers take away food with her bare hands and moving it from a plate to a take away dish with no gloves, she did that with the wrap and chips (I managed to take a picture of this )
To my disbelief I also witnessed the same waitress handle two pieces of chocolate cake, from the plate to the plate for the customer, again using her bare hands picking up the slices.
My partner and I were both appalled and disgusted.
This is slightly what I witnessed while being there, and being able to see the kitchen area from my seat.
Imagine what is happening with other peoples food and those whom are ordering take away foods.
If I could give it a 0 star I would.
Disgusting place AVOID
Before ordering, not ordering before getting the menu itself the complimentary bread with their sauce came to table.(there were no salads)
We Had their (Efes special 1 )plater for 4
We order the bigger plater to get more meat and more rice but here
We had enough quantity for 2 person but not for 4
(it was mentioned for 4)
The rice portion after taking 2 spoons it got over it was very less and the chicken&lamb donor was very less than the other turkish restaurants I had been too. The lamb& chicken shish that was in the plater was tasty and the lamb ribs was cooked perfectly and juicy.
I was only disappointed on the quantity. It was not worth of money.
For Desserts I had their baklava and kunafe
Baklave -that I had here also the same as other Turkish restaurant. you will get 3 small pieces of baklava with a very fine line of pista dust in it (not worth) it was very soggy in the sugar syrup.
Kunafe- it was tasty and enough cheese pull but the portion size is kinda small there were not enough sugar solutions you can try it for one time only
I like that bread is provided when you get sat down so you can nibble whilst waiting to order.
It’s a nice big restaurant and doesn’t seem to over crowded which is good, means you can dine without being on top of other people.
Service is okay, it’s not the worse but it’s not top tier either, which leads me to why I rated this 3 stars, mostly due to my recent visit.
Our original waitress didn’t know how to order from the Christmas set menu, which I find very strange considering it’s Christmas. Part of my order didn’t come (chips) but this was rectified. Someone I was with should have had salad with their food, no salad was given until asked. A glass of wine was included with the Christmas set menus, yet these were added to the end bill. Again this was rectified. Someone ordered a drink which never arrived. So all minor issues really and all were dealt with which is great… it was then the whopping 24% service charge that was added to the bill that took us all back. I’m not a fan of service charges, if I want to tip I will, I don’t like being dictated to what I should tip, but to add pretty much quarter of the bill is crazy, especially as service could have been better. Yes there was 8 of us, none of us were tricky orders, I just don’t get how so much can be added to the bill? I mean most places average 10-15% but 24%? We did ask for this to be removed and it was and we all tipped what we wanted to tip, but it’s an absolute p* take to add so much!
That being said I would go back again but that service charge needs looking at.
