The only reason I didn’t give five stars is that when I collected it it wasn’t very clean and the parcel shelf attachment which they promised would be mended was still broken. Callum soon fixed it with some superglue and the car will be dirty within a week anyway.
So really I think Caffyns were excellent.
I purchased an eight thousand pounds car in February 2020. It suffered electrical faults almost immediately and due to covid lock down my warranty expired. It was off the road for over seven months. I sent emails and called the customer service line but the manager said he didn't know about the issue. The car was sent back in first two weeks but due to covid the site locked down, understandable.
So late last year I get vehicle back on the road after much expense. The guy who sold me the car made a courtesy call to see how the car was and I told him the story, he said I'll ask my manager if we can do anything, silence.
I put a one star review and the manager calls saying he didn't know despite me sending emails, calls and speaking to the salesman who sold me the car.
I'm told by the manager he is disappointed he wasn't told despite at least three different people being informed at the site. He goes on to say he considers each customer family and offers me a free service.
The clutch and gearbox then fails and both need replacing, manager of sales informed. He then sends email saying they will hold service until I need it.
He could have offered some help in reduced rates for repairs as he was told the car has only been drivable for only a few months since I bought it.
The car has been on the road for about six months since purchase. They knew about all problems I had with car (I have proof of each email and call in case they want to dispute).
An eight thousand pound car has cost me nearly eleven thousand pounds.
Whoever said "let the buyer beware" was probably bleeding from the wallet.
Please, no one from caffyns call me, I just won't believe you.
Update 12.06.21 if you are negative they respond to review with a message to contact them, they do nothing when you do. This has happened twice now.
