Got no idea what the previous reviewer is on about. Obviously insincere and untruthful and possibly from a competitor. Myself and my family grandchildren included have been buying cars from George at Hamiltons for over 15 years and we've never had a days problem with any of our cars. Plus, George is an honest gentleman and services all his cars to a high standard with a warranty. Hamiltons has been around for over a quarter of a century and long may they continue.

As the Owner of Hamilton's Cars just wanted to address the previous negative review. We recovered the gentleman's car and replaced the fuel pump all at no cost to him. A bit disappointed at his ingratitude as he was happy after we returned the car. Still we wish him all the best and after being in business for over 25 years we never leave any customer dissatisfied and our reputation remains stellar.

Bought a Fiat Punto grande last October from this dealer. 4 months later while driving something fell out of the gear box and car refused to go into 1st gear. AA came to inspect the car and the AA mechanic said the gear box had not been fitted properly. We then got a highly recommended mechanic to look at it and he agreed with the AA mechanic and said the car needed a new gearbox which would cost over £1,000 to fit and he said he wouldn't take our money as he couldn't be sure that would even fix the problem. He said we had been done! All this happened just after we had our first baby and had moved out of London so really needed a car. We called Hamilton cars they said they would only agree to pay half the cost to tow it and no promise to fix it because it was 4 months after we bought it and their warranty was only for 3 months. After seeking legal advice we found out that Hamiltons are liable under the 2015 consumer rights act to fix the car. We called again and they were incredibly rude, we asked them to come and fix the car or we would be taking them to small claims court and they put the phone down on us. Do not buy from this dealer as we have had two specialists tell us that the car is dodgy. No doubt the dealer will respond below blaming us like he has with all the other reviews so anyone who would like to see the two stamped letters of evidence we have and will be submitting to the court can message me and I will be more than happy to send you these so that no one else has to go through the hell we have!

I bought a car from this garage about 7 months ago. While the owner was very friendly, the car has turned out to be riddled with problems. The engine overheated and it took the garage a month to replace the alternator. However, I'm not convinced this can have been the correct problem as there were no other problems with the electrics. We then found that the car had a massive oil leak which existed when I bought the car, but the garage owner kept refusing to accept there was a leak. He kept repeating that a 9 year old Peugeot consumed 1l of oil every 1000 miles... We eventually had the lea fixed by another garage, and it now turns out that the car is also burning oil. All this from a car that was supposedly serviced and passed its MOT the day before I bought it. I will not be recommending this garage to anyone.

i bought a bmw 5 series m sport from this con man. The mileage had been clocked back and he didnt even mention anything about it. he gave me a 3 month warranty on the car which covered engine problems and when i contacted him numerous times in the second month he just kept fobbing me off. This guy dint even bother to send the v5 logbook for changeover. I had to do it myself and when i questioned him about it then he came up with multiple excuses. Never buy a car from this garage. These people have no integrity or morals.

I brought a bmw a few months ago, in very good condition and working order, a years MOT and log book with full service history, at a great price. George made the process very easy, and I felt reassured throughout. He also fitted a new rear light unit for free when I smashed it after reversing into a bollard just weeks after buying the car. I would highly recommend

I bought a 2006 Honda CR-V 2.2 CTDi from this dealership. Naturally, there can be many minor issues with cars of this age. I do not expect a car from 2006 to be in perfect condition. The navigation system doesn’t work, the rear windscreen wiper is faulty, the wing mirrors have to be adjusted manually most times I get in and out of the car and so forth. These things weren't pointed out which is kind of irritating, but I can live with them. Fine.

George gave me a 3 month warranty for everything under the bonnet, which I thought was very reasonable at the time.
Alarm bells went off the day after I bought the car and it started going into limp mode. I went to see George, who cleared the computer and advised me to bring the car back if this happened again. George genuinely seemed to be trying to get to the bottom of the issue, running different tests. After a couple of calls and 3 visits, George suggested an electrician should look at the car to resolve the limp mode issue. George arranged for the electrician who called me and seemed to want to meet on 5 minute’s notice, this despite the fact I‘d told George I had property viewings that afternoon. Anyway, the electrician agreed to look at the car during the week. I said he could come any day during normal working hours at his convenience, since I would be home and available. The electrician did not come. I messaged him twice and he ignored my messages both times. I then messaged George and he ignored my message.

The funny thing is the car has not gone into limp mode for two weeks, which seems strange given this was happening everyday of driving it since buying the thing. I am fairly happy with the car, although the windscreen washer system is still faulty - another thing George said he’d fix but didn’t. I no longer have the energy to deal with the man. At this point, he seems unwilling to keep his promises.

I wish you luck in your search for a car! Take your time and make the right choices. If I had read the reviews on here, I doubt I would have bought a car from this dealership. Don’t make the same mistake I have!!!

Just purchased a car of this dealer (Hyandai) after recommendations from a friend who has been buying from him for many years. He has a good reputation and has had this business for over 39 years and I can see why. Very helpful and informative and really happy with my new set of wheels.
