Bought a car in November 2018 with a MOT certificate. After 2 days of purchase the airbag light went on and it stayed on until my next MOT. The people that did the new MOT told me that the car had a big problem and they did not understand how I could be in possession of a MOT Certificate as the car did not have the air bags, and the electricals had been tampered with on purpose. I just paid almost £1200 to refit the car with a whole airbag system, as it was missing and not in the car!
Very disappointed at the dishonesty (also trading as Car TGTC,,, because they were dodgy and they recently change the company name to CAR ENTERPRISE

I recently purchased a Mercedes CLK registration LM53LAA from The Great Trading Company (TGTC) in Dagenham which was advertised in the Auto Trader. In the ad for this veh (copy available) it stated that there was a full MOT and was immaculate; the veh was advertised for £1995. I messaged Mo on 09/04/18 to enquire about the veh and on 10/04/18 we exchanged texts and a video call so that he was able to walk me round the exterior of the veh showing me all of the cosmetic work that needed to be carried out, which included 1) crack to rear bumper, 2) scuff to passenger side rear bumper, 3) crack to splitter on front bumper, 4) towing i-cap missing on front bumper, plus various other age related scuffs and scratches. Mo also showed me the age related wear and tear to the interior of the veh, he also mentioned that the ABS light was on and that this was the only light showing on the dashboard. All of the above was accepted by my myself and reflected in the price Mo was requesting for the veh. We finalised the deal on the evening of 12/04/18 after Mo arranged delivery and i made the final payment of £1,405. Mo assured me that all the correct paperwork would be delivered with the veh. On receiving the veh the next morning by transporter at approx 8.00am and the delivery driver handed me all the legal docs in relation to LM53LAA; I immediately realised there was no service history or MOT. The delivery driver stated that there was no other paperwork with this veh and asked that i sign the delivery note to which I refused. Upon physically inspecting the veh and driving it, i realised straight away that Mo had not be completely honest in both his ad of the veh or is verbal communication with myself. After closer inspection i noticed the following problems: faulty automatic gearbox, convertible roof not working, passenger wheel heavy damage, pulling to the left, faulty breaks juddering when applied, window wipers not working correctly, 5 various bulbs fused, and SRS light showing (faulty restraints). I was not to concerned about the cosmetics on this veh my main concern was that the engine and gearbox were, in Mo's words "solid and in perfect working order". Which sealed and finalised the sale for me. At the cost of £100

HIS RESPONSE:

I told you everything about the car, and I told you we are not fixing anything, we told you not to get involved if you do not know your technical stuff, we clearly said we can't do mot as the srs light is on, we told you so many times don't buy it, but you didn't understand any word of it, we even showed you the car on video call and showed you every single bit of the damage, along with the engine and srs light on,we told you we haven't driven the car, and is not sold on trading standards anymore as it's unlikely it will pass is Mot, in fact it is sold as a trade sale to traders only, we told you the market for the car is about £3000 but we are throwing away at £1255, but you simply wouldn't listen, we told you is a very old car, and it has got things to be done to it to put it right, you kept agreeing to everything, we told you that the car is sold with out warranties and guarantees, and hence the throw away price, we told you the car comes with some paper work and may or may not have any service history, we told you we don't do business over the phone and we never sell a car until the customer has fully seen or test driven it, but you kept on insisting buying it, we told you we would comply to your request for delivering it, and is a no reform vehicle you agreed to everything. Now told all that above and forcing is to send the car over and got yourself as the new keeper added to the car, you want me to take the trade sold car back.....

We are confident our conversation is record for events like this, you are more than welcome to go to trading standards police or military, we have our proof

We saw the car a Ford Kuga: AD09XKH on Car Gurus. On car gurus the adverting stipulations are that you must declare a car as "a write off Catergory 8" As we live far away I called the dealer (no good morning or how can I help you - just an abrupt "Hello") I asked if we could have an RAC inspection and he said definitley, when we called the RAC, they told us it was a Catergory 8 - write off, they should tell the truth on Car Gurus, also car gurus wrote under the advert, sounds too good to be true.
