Bought a great car from this garage. I usually avoid dealers like the plague but the car was very reasonably priced so I took a look. It was exactly as described, new mot and cam belt/ water pump and a service included.
What made the difference was the honesty and helpfulness of the owner and all the employees I dealt with, they couldnt have done more, and absolutely no pushy sales tactics.
My wife loves the car and after using it for a couple of weeks there are no issues atall. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good car and good service.

Highly recommended. We've had our cars serviced at Steve Clarke Garages for several years, and always been impressed. I frequently cross their forecourt to the adjacent shops, and have been impressed with the standard of their cars for sale. I dropped in one Saturday morning recently and asked whether they could source a specific car. Spence was very helpful and suggested their Buy to Order service. Within a few days, Spence phoned me to say he had found a car exactly matching my requirements and at a competitive price. With an impending holiday, Spence also took a long drive to collect the car so that it would be ready when I needed it. Altogether this was a stress-free and very quick way to buy a car that could have taken weeks to find by visiting numerous dealers.

I am not normally one to leave reviews but after reading such a negative review I felt that I should give a more positive view on my experience.
I have purchased two cars from Steve Clarke Garages and on each occasion I was dealt with by Spencer.
His courteous manner, knowledge and professionalism is second to none. He listened to my needs and advised me as to which cars I should look at. I did not feel rushed or pressured to make a decision which is a refreshing change.
Unfortunately I did experience a problem with my new car within the first month.
The way the sales department and service centre dealt with it was professional and efficient. Soon after I had advised them of the fault they collected my car and left me with a courtesy car. With 24 hours my car was delivered back to me with the problem rectified. With no fuss, no drama and no cost to myself.
Two years later and I have had no further issues.
I would have no doubts in recommending Steve, his garages or his staff to anyone as the service that they supply is outstanding.
I wish Steve and his team every success and wish him well with his new venture at Cowick Street Motors.

The guys at the garage were really helpful sorting my car out when my warning light came on before I was about to make a long journey. They fitted me in at short notice and were great. Brought a car from Spencer, and from the initial phone call to ask about the car, all the way through to collecting it, the service we received was fantastic. It was made a quick and easy process from start to finish. Great selection of beautiful cars and most definitely extremely happy with mine. Thankyou. We would definitely use this garage again.

Bought my vehicle from Steve Clarke Garages this July. Despite paying the full asking price and travelling from South Wales, I developed a knocking in the flywheel after three weeks of ownership. The servicing department appeared helpful enough in that they initially provided a courtesy car and fixed a central locking issue. In relation to the knocking they said they cannot 'hear' anything, despite myself and many others clearly hearing it. I also sent video evidence and was told it's normal for a diesel three cylinder. I disagreed but knew I was getting nowhere. They did not even bother taking the clutch apart to investigate; having admitted to myself 'we listened as best as we could'. I had it taken apart last week by a clutch/gearbox specialist and the dual mass flywheel does indeed have premature failure. I was sent the evidence proving this and am getting the flywheel replaced tomorrow.

Steve Clarke claimed they took my vehicle to a specialist and that it has a single mass flywheel. It does not; it was taken apart and has been found to have a dual flywheel - something the salesperson at Steve Clarke mocked me for claiming during the warranty period. This same salesperson was very rude, dismissive and patronising from my experience and was questioning everything I said throughout the whole duration of going down the warranty route; even having the audacity to blame me for any knocking the car developed even though I had only drove 700 miles, if that, since owning the vehicle. The warranty is in house and not worth the paper it is wrote on, unfortunately. Any issues claimed for via warranty comes out of their pocket should they chose to do the right thing and pay out. Just speaking from my own experiences. I am now £650 out of pocket on top of the £7500 I paid.

To note, the vehicle I bought has 20k on the clock and an apparent full service history.

We are newish to Exeter. Steve Clarke garages were recommended a few times. We are happy with them too. Spence and Charlie were polite, down-to-earth and very helpful to us venturing into buying our first hybrid, a Hyundai. So far, so good.

Excellent service selling my car to this garage. Explored Internet options but no fees to pay and photos to take. Competitive figure for my vehicle and on this occasion were even able to give me a lift home in the heat as I was local.
