Here's my experience with them.
Had what I thought (live and learn) was a good part-ex deal for a lovely Volvo XC90 R Design towards the purchase of a rather stunning Mercedes ML300 near the end of March. Five weeks later it was in a Mercedes specialist repair shop to fix warning signs requiring 2 speed sensors at a cost of many £'s. Yesterday, two weeks further into my ownership, it is back in the same repair shop for a new brake caliper, disk and pads even though the car came with a brand new MOT. Total cost for both visits... well over £1K. It's difficult to keep calm when you telephone the seller to see what reponse you might receive and, after a lengthy conversation, get told "we are sorry for your inconvenience" and "you are being charged far too much". End of.
Is it just my bad luck as these problems could not be foreseen, having just passed its MOT? Have I bought a good looking dud with other expensive faults in store?
I guess time will tell but we certainly don't have the same looks on the vehicle as we did.
Maybe seven weeks is enough with this money pit and we should cut our potential (but highly likely) losses and get rid of.
Would we buy from Bryncethin Trade Centre again? Mmm...
There we are, I kept my cool
Update 15/12/22
Shocked and disappointed to hear about the problems with the Volvo. I have little mechanical knowledge but I thought the car was running really well when I took it in to you. As you say these things cannot be foreseen. Just as further faults on our Mercedes could not. Another speed sensor replacement in July, during which it was noticed that a rear suspension spring has snapped meaning at the next MOT the car will fail. Rain leaking into the boot area, and has been for some time, hence the rusted and failed tailgate motor. We knew at point of sale that the powered tailgate didn't work, but we weren't informed as to why. Electronic boot lock replacement two weeks ago and today an ABS sensor has had to be replaced. So it transpires that neither of us are particularly happy with our transaction.
