Fantastic customer service that was both helpful and friendly. The van I hired was a very reasonable price and easy to drive. Excel has already gone above and beyond to help find me another van for a house move next week. I will be recommending them to others and using them again.

I am a small touring company who have used Excel loyally and frequently for gigs.
I booked a SWB, which I unfortunately had to cancel as it was too small. I booked a LWB, and Excel retained half the booking fee for the original SWB, in addition to the full booking fee for the LWB. I understand some fees have to be retained in the event of late cancellation, however, it was shared to me over the phone that the SWB had been rebooked by another customer, and as stated, I had rebooked a LWB. No losses were experienced by Excell here, only gains.
Overall, it has cost £408 for one van, required only for 24hrs (I am still waiting on the partial refund from the SWB, my current loss is £606).
Customer service was patronising and condescending, and kept reiterating "we have excellent customer service".
As a small business owner relying on gig economy, this has absolutely destroyed my business and I will be unable to recuperate. If this review prevents other customers having similar experiences it will be worthwhile.

Friendly, polite professional service. They provided a small car on short notice when my own car broke down. Really nice family-run, independent business, that focuses on providing excellent service. Couldn't be happier and will definitely go back to them first the next time I need a hire car.

Absolutely disgusting customer service!! I’d never ever even consider using this company again, after hiring with them before and having a lovely easy experience during what is a stressful time anyway having to hire a car today I spoke to the rudest person when calling to hire a car or van in an emergency. Fair enough you had nothing available as you have to “look after your regular customers” not the problem but there’s absolutely no need to be extremely rude to returning customers, such a disgusting attitude and as for being told I haven’t got a chance of getting a hire car this close to Christmas we actually have from Enterprise who were lovely to deal with. So I really hope the rust buckets you are keeping aside for your regular customers get hired out and aren’t left on what looks like a scrap yard all over Christmas!
