Lovely experience, the staff were so helpful and informative. I bought a fish tank and 2 fish for my daughters birthday, I'm a very happy customer. I was served by a lovely lady called Ally, who gave me all the support and advice I needed to get the most for my money and the best gift. I would definitely recommend them as they had lots of gift ideas in store.

Availability of appointments is good, particularly with the longer days and weekend appointments, although access is a bit awkward having to traverse the shop and then either go upstairs or try to get your dog to agree to go in a lift.

The reception staff are pleasant enough but a bit vapid - need to be interrupted sometimes from their conversation, phone, computer etc to respond to a live customer in front of them.

The female vets are lovely - good with the animals and owners.

However, James Thorne, who owns the practice, is neither good with our dog nor with us. Our dog loves everyone - except James. We dislike dealing with him. He is rude, uncaring, condescending and aloof.

More importantly we have repeatedly been given the wrong information by the nurses about timings of vaccinations. Mostly, I knew the right answers and was able to correct them. However, recently, we thought we had done our research but didn’t realise that we wouldn’t be given the certificate immediately which we needed to go on holiday. That needed another appointment 21 days later with the dog present - ie the day AFTER we go on holiday ! James initially denied all responsibility and was very unhelpful saying we would just have to cancel or delay our holiday. I have since found out that we probably don’t need the paperwork for where we’re going so it should be ok, but we will definitely change to another vet as soon as they have space on their patient list.

The reception staff are always so welcoming. The vet we have seen a number of times and she always so much care and love for our dog. I cannot fault the service we have had. They are always fantastic!

They were all helpful, they definitely were thoughtful to Kiwi's feelings and considerate of her comfort. They were also compassionate to the concerns and questions we've asked. And they surely knew how to treat our Kiwi before and after her surgery. During the phone call in regards to asking for Kiwi's 2 day follow up time to be changed for the later hour, they were empathetic over the phone and as well as face to face as they've listened without coming across as judgemental. And also we've seen how gentle and patient they were with Kiwi and her care.

I took my dog to this practice over the Christmas period, after him being very unwell for 3 days & nights. My registered Vets4Pets practice in Luton couldn't care less, had no emergency appointments to offer us and gave me no advice whatsoever. Thankfully St Albans fitted us in the same day and I'm so grateful they did. The staff are empathetic and compassionate, provide professional and well explained advice, and ensure follow up appointments to ensure your pets health improves. I'm so impressed, I have now taken my dog out of our original practice and moved him here. Particular thanks to Katie & Stephanie. The future is looking bright again thanks to your support. Appointment was on time. All team members were friendly, clearly competent, and took the time to answer my questions on plan options and treatments. Prices were reasonable, individual treatment price on a par with other vets and there are considerable savings on necessary treatments when signing up for a regular plan.
