I phoned this vet to get an appointment for my 5 year old dog who had become ill on holiday. My dog had as a pup a complex illness which had taken 3 visits to the vet , seeing 3 different vets before an accurate diagnosis was received . The vet who eventually recognised the symptoms and set about curing her was a very experienced vet who had seen this before. When she became ill on holiday recently, we feared the old illness had returned so when arranging an appointment I asked the vet if there was an experienced vet at the practice (at home the more experienced vets would prefer to treat her. ). I couldn’t have been more taken aback when I asked this question . The vet turned on me telling me I had insulted her and they had all trained for 5 years to be a vet and so all had the same experience! She didn’t allow me to speak and made a simple question about a complex medical issue with my poorly dog all about her and her ego. She didn’t ask any questions about the dogs illness.
Having been a teacher for over 30 years I remember being newly qualified and referring to experienced teachers for advice when I needed to. I did not arrogantly assume that because I had studied for 4 years I was equal in experience to other staff who had been there a long time. Perhaps somebody needs to explain to this vet that qualifications have nothing to do with experience. Experience like respect needs to be worked at. Needless to say I did not use this vet and would not recommend the practice.

Not a bad vet bit has most peculiar opening times.

The building itself is old fashioned but the vets are great and know there stuff!

My 13 year old dog became very poorly on boxing day a few years ago..i phoned for advice and took the dog to see them..my dog had become so poorly the way down..they came out to meet me with a trolley and as he had got so bad we decided to have him put to sleep and they did it while my dog was in my arms and in the car..which i am so pleased about..they were really kind and sympathetic towards me,,they then took the dog inside with them after id had a few minutes with him..im so glad i took him there..i couldnt have asked for a better service thank you.
