The staff are great and I never had to wait long for an appointment.
Sadly my cat became very ill recently and despite the vets best efforts she had to be euthanized.
The whole process was dealt with very sympathetically and we were allowed some time to say our good byes.
I would recommend the services of this vets to anyone. Thanks.
I phoned the reception on the 4th of March 2022 and booked an appointment for my dog Tilly and stated very clearly that it was for her cytopoint injection. I had already paid for the 2 vials previously and had 1 left , as my dog was starting to show signs of allergies once again I clearly stated it is earlier than the 4 weeks. The receptionist booked the appointment for the 9th at 0930 with veterinary nurse Sarah Fiddy this usually cost £28 to administer the injection.
Upon our arrival we entered the reception and spoke to the receptionist for around 2 or so minutes this was much longer than I spoke to the "Nurse". Sarah came out stroked my dog informed that it was too early for her cytopoint injection encouraged me to book another appointment all of which should and could have been done over the phone and also prescribed steroids a pointless act as i had already paid for the vial of cytopoint that i was now not going to recieve. So not only did my dog never leave my side the 30 second conversation with the "Nurse" ended up costing me £49 with the added short course of steroids which brought the total to £68 which is totally ridiculous I contested this and said i no longer wished to have the steroids and expected the costs to be waved but alas that did not happen and again my 30 second conversation with the "Nurse" in the reception area not even taken into a consultation room was going to cost me £49 again I contested this a second receptionist went to speak with the vet upon her return she stated the vet said you claim all this back on your insurance anyway!!!!! Infuriated I reluctantly paid the £49 and left.
Not only was I disgusted with the extortionate amount I was being charged for my 30 second conversation with a "Nurse" I was also insulted by the comment made about claiming on insurance all of which I pay for the insurance is not free I have premium ls that I pay and that is my business if I claim the fees back or not.
Through all of this I have now cancelled tillys next appointment and told the vets practice to destroy the remaining vial as I will never be using that practice again due to the ridiculous costs that I had to pay considering my dog didn't even get her injection, I left that practice £49 lighter and no better off than when I first arrived.
This practice will not permit anything other than a monthly prescription for these tablets which cost £23 a month and will not provide a three or six month prescription - Just a moneymaking practice
All the vets I have taken my pet to have given conflicting advice about what to do regarding his scratching and varied tablets between half a day and two a day
One vet told me he had a heart murmur another vet said that was not the case
They seem under resourced and overly high handed. Very underwhelmed by their approach and looking elsewhere
I guess they’re okay if you have a pet that simply needs injections for common diseases
So so wonderful today when my poor little cat had to take her last walk.
Thank you all for your kindness today.
