Maes Glas Vets, Bridgend

1st time at this vets my dog was booked foe routine surgery at the Bridgend practice
Had to take ger in 2 days earlier with grunting and distended abdomen
The following day after tests still no answers as to what happened our lovely dog Bonnie was having difficulty breathing and had to be put to sleep.not the symptoms she went in with.she was hypoxic and her mouth was black
The state she was in was terrible
I was shocked .cried all week.feel guilty that i took her for help and never got to bring her home
Need to know whats happened to my bonnie waitinv for answers how my baby was alive one minute and put to sleep the next
Never take my other dogs there
Impression was more the cost rather than my dogs welfare the priority of this practice 😭😭

Reception staff need a bit of customer service training. Was left waiting to sign into our appointment whilst they were discussing holidays and ignoring us as we stood there like spare parts. Unsympathetic to the fact I was about to have my beloved hamster PTS, yes it’s ‘only a hamster’ but to me she wasn’t!
The vet however was fantastic, sympathetic and respectful, she was amazing and I’m grateful for how sensitively she handled everything. I would give her 5 stars if I could rate separately.

Apparently they take feedback seriously but I emailed my complaint to the relevant email address months ago with no response, hence this review.

Maes Glas vets were amazing, I had a really hard time parting with my pet, but they treated the situation with great care and compassion. They truly are the best vets around🐾

Best vets in my area all staff are super friendly helpful and efficient
The vets and nurses just love the animals, this is clear by their interaction when dealing with them and in reception.

Super great vets with really good staff who are always willing to help you. You can get reminders for your dogs medicines by text and any questions you need just ask them.

Maes Glas vets Bridgend is a first class veterinary practice. We have been taking our 3 Bassett hounds and rabbits there for the past 9 years! The staff from receptionists, cleaners, nurses and vets are fantastic. They have a candle on main reception which explains that it is lit when an animal has to be put to sleep. We have complete faith in them as a veterinary practice.

Excellent practice. Always friendly and helpful, have taken the time to listen and get to know me and my dogs to deliver best treatment. Emergency service has been impeccable too.

Difficult to see the same vet twice so continuity sometimes disrupted but I feel there is a lot of knowledge shared amongst the vets and the 'less experienced' will readily consult another if any doubt.
It is a friendly practice and staff across the board are polite and helpful.
Due to the number of patients time keeping is quite disrupted. I am not complaining as I may have been one who was 'slotted' in to support my boy. I am very happy overall with the level.of care at Maes Glas and have recommended you to many other dog walkers that I meet
